Unfortuntately it seems to only be for the PS2 - but still, it looks amazing. I'm curious if anyone has played it - and if it's as good as it looks.

Shadow of the Colossus?
I just saw this 2 page spread in a magazine, so I'm checked it out on Gamespot.

Re: Shadow of the Colossus?
I haven't played it myself but from the comments on it it's either great or one of the most boring things ever made. I think I'll find it boring that's why I haven't played it. I read about someone taking an hour to find 1 of the things then 50 minutes to fight it,that doesn't sound very good to me. -

Did you like ICO? The environments are very similar. You spend 5-20 minutes finding the next Colussus in an "ICO-esque" manner (ledge climbing, jumping, relatively simple puzzles). I'm not sure who was spending an hour doing that...your sword will shine in the direction you are supposed to go next and you have a horse to cover ground quickly...seems pretty easy to me. You spend 15-50 minutes each in 16 very good "boss" battles where you battle these HUGE beasts. Each Colossus is unique and the battles can get very exciting. The good thing is that you don't have to find the Colossus again if you die...you just start the battle again.
It's a very fun and original game, but I would call it a rental since it doesn't have a lot of replay value and you can beat it over a long weekend or a week or two with Gamerang/Gamefly. It's ICO with some Zelda elements (bow and arrow/horse riding) thrown in.Comment

Re: Shadow of the Colossus?
I rank SOtC right up there with God of War as the best PS2 games this year (and maybe ever). No ps2 owner should miss either. Both have a great story, great gameplay, and most important, they are fun.
SOtC could probably be beaten in a 5 to 7 day rental period. It has some replayability as I'm playing through it a 2nd time on the unlocked hard mode currently.Comment
