Possible Solution for the Overheating 360's !

I hope the Mods don't mind me starting a new thread on the subject but I thought this is very important and it would be hell trying to find it in the Official Bugs and Glitches thread.

I was over at Xbox.com and I came to a discussion on Overheating 360's. Well low and behold it appears some genius determined the problem opened up his Xbox360 and fixed it cause he won his machine in a Mountain Dew contest.

His 360 would lock up and was running very hot. Well he took off the covers and found one of the two rear fans had quit working. He reconnected the fan and the machine has been flawless since.

It appears Microsoft is investigating this very same problem and is now asking those with this similiar problem to make sure both "rear vent fans" are working.

My 360's has been flawless and just runs warm. So I checked my fans in the rear by shining a flashlight and both are turning.

I suggest checking your rear fans and if one of them is not working call Microsoft and tell them !

There are two fans actually. The easiest way to look for them is to shine a flashlight at the rear of the machine and power on the unit via the remote or controller. Look for the moving fan blades. Take a light peice of paper or tissue. Hold it against the rear of the machine and it will blow away from the unit. All 360 come with 2 rear fans!

No do not fool with it cause it will void the warranty. Call Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

That's correct it will void the warranty. If your unit is running really hot and you only see one fan turning call Microsoft support!
