Re: Best Buy 360 Allocation for Dec 18th
I'd recommend it. There were over 100 people at the original launch near me going for 50 360's. And they are shipping 38 on this launch, by my count that still leaves extra people willing to camp out/wake up realllllly early even after this shipment comes through. If you want a 360, especially if you want a premium, you better treat this like launch day and be prepared for a camp.Originally posted by TritonThere's 3 stores in my area, all with about 30-36 units...suggest I camp out? I'll probably scope the place around closing and decide from there...
BTW, the line here on launch started around 4 PM. From what I heard from people out there, if you weren't there before midnight, you didn't get one.
I just have a feeling like this will be as bad, or worse, than launch day. The shortage is a reality now so people will be taking this more serious as their one and only chance to get this thing before Christmas at least(probably until mid-January). I know a lot of people around here were confident about walking into a number of stores the day of the original launch and picking one off of the shelf, now you have all of those people who will join in the camping if they actually want one...Comment

Re: Best Buy 360 Allocation for Dec 18th
I live there, but won't be there. I'm in no rush to drop $500 on this thing(i will get one, but once there's more than 1 game I'm interested in). I'm just intrigued by the whole process really.Originally posted by fsquidCM, do you live in Charlotte? I'm guessing you will be up at the University BB.
There was a line of about 5 people at 4 PM. I don't know if they all came together at once or what, but there was a small line forming around 4. The guy I knew who went the earliest got up there around 6 and he was something like 12th in line.4pm??!! Is that when the majority of the line had formed, or when like the first couple die-hards walked up? When do you suggest I go?
If you live very close to a Best Buy then just drive by every hour and a half or so starting around 4, and be prepared to park and hop in line. Living near a college probably brings out more kids who are willing(and don't have parental restrictions) to dedicating a ton of time to getting an xbox, so I'm not sure how it will be around you. If I seriously wanted a premium, and I wanted it on Sunday, I would be out at Best Buy at about 6 PM with a tent and sleeping bag ready to go.Comment

Re: Best Buy 360 Allocation for Dec 18th
Yeah, if you really want one, just make sure you don't slip up and get out there too late or something. I mean, one extra hour sitting outside really isn't a big deal considering if you DON'T then you might be waiting an extra month to get a 360.Originally posted by TritonI go to Ohio State...and live on campus...but I think most of the undergrads are already gone or will be gone by then...we'll see. Definitely will need to scope it out early and often. So be it.
Get out there as soon as a line starts to form though, make sure you don't get stuck with a core! Good luck!Comment

Re: Best Buy 360 Allocation for Dec 18th
Yea, definitely gonna want to go early on that one. I have to decide which Best Buy in the Cleveland area I want to go to. The one w/ the most units is the one that's in between Cleveland and the suburbs, so tons of people go there, so I was considering if I should go closer to the Akron area and try thereOriginally posted by slymm21Columbus is a big city. I'd go early
