Same situation here. A buddy of mine preordered his right after the 360 show on MTV and paid it all off and hasn't gotten his yet. I had one preordered at EBGames and cancelled it when I found out how far down the list I was and once I found out about the shortages. I camped out at Target and got one launch day and the people were really cool about it there, so I've just been buying games at Target (and most everything else since then too). If it's a big game that I know Target won't get till 3 to 4 days after EB and GS, then I'll go get one there, but I'm done preordering anything at either of those stores.

Yeah, I just got back from Gamestop - same ol' song and dance. I did return my copies of PDZ and COD2. The only reason I already bought them in the first place was because Gamestop reps suggested that games might be in short supply after the console came out. Well, I can get those games anywhere - I just can't get my console that I pre-orderd in June. I hope to find the console elsewhere - or, rather, at some of the many stores that have managed to FAIRLY supply their customers - and will buy games from Target or BB from now on. I hope Gamestop/EB loses a ton of business over this.

This guy I know from school pre ordered his 360 early on and was #7 on the list. When he called a few days before the launch they said they didn't have him on the list and when he proved to him that he had signed up they told him the best they could do was #10. That gamestop got 6 360's on launch day. When he called to see when there would be more coming in they told him they didn't know and also that he would be moved to #14 on the list because he hadn't pre-ordered anything but the system. I told him he should tell gamestop to screw themselves and cancel the order but apparently he doesn't want to camp out for a second release (this weekend) so he is taking their BS and living with it. Gamestop makes me so angry I can hardly stand going in the place anymore.

I just talked to the manager at Gamestop. She said that they was told the other day, that their shipment would be received on the 23rd! But they was told that, they was only to fill pre-orders up to July 15! Mines was ordered in August. that's Bull****!" She was also told that anyone who wants a refund can get one, full price no store cred. She looked up my name and said 3 ppl cancel their orders. So I'm 7th on the list, but she thinks that they may get 10 systems. She said if she gets 10 she's going to call me regardless.

She was trying to tell me that the ppl in charge is basically saying, if your July 15th cutoff is 5 ppl, sell the other 5 units. Don't call the other preorders. So I'll be there on Friday. If I don't get a system, I might as well give up. F U very much MS.

I'm not going to say you shouldn't be complaining, because you definitely should be. But, just for a little perspective, I pre-ordered from Gamestop on July 20th, and I'm getting told February or March.

In any case, did you ask them why they're selling 360s at Gamestop.com when they haven't fulfilled their pre-orders??

Also, I have no idea what you were saying in your second paragraph? Are you suggesting that if your Gamestop gets 360s in, rather than filling pre-orders of people who pre-orderd after July 15th, they're going to sell 360s first-come first-serve? Isn't that fraud?

That's what I was try trying to say. Is it fraud? I have no clue.

I'm sorry they gave you a later date then me. But I just think MS and GS let us down. So I'm really just ranting. I don't want to get any of you guys nerves or anything.

No, no, not at all. I think at this point anyone who pre-ordered from Gamestop has all the rights in the world to complain.

As for it being fraud - I mean, I don't know if it's technically fraud by legal definition - but it's definitely not right, and it sounds like it indeed would be fraud.

Which Gamestop store are you talking about? If I had pre-ordered at a Gamestop and had found out that they'd done that, there'd be hell to pay.

I'm in Chicago. The manager didn't tell me right out. But she was hinting to me. I personally want to know why July 15th? I mean what if one store have 20 preorders before that date and another store have 2, is that fair? Hell no. If watch she said was true or not, something's fishy. I mean why don't the store just have a solid number of systems? Why tell the manager to fill the preorders to July 15th? I think the store will have more systems then the July 15th preorders to get a couple of more sales before Christmas.

Oh I blame them too. Sending all those units to Japan. Knowing without DOA4 and some dumb RPG. They wouldn't buy it. I bet if it came with Dance Dance Revolution they would have bought it.
