I can't believe it, but I actually scored one here. I noticed in the log at Gamersmill.com, this bundle was in stock for an hour (9 EST through 10 EST). My browser even froze but I was still able to complete the transaction.
It only sucks that the "estimated" arrival date is January 4th, but it could be a worst case estimate. Living in AZ, I also had to pay tax - at least the ground shipping was free.
This was a good deal - retail price for PGR3, an extra wireless controller, plus a platinum 360 - $499 before the close to 10% tax. I just hope CC doesn't screw me."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."

I was able to snag one of these this morning and, in my rush to complete the transaction, accidently selected $24.00 FedEx 2day shipping. The bad news is that I didn't need to spend that much on shipping. I found out why the shipping is so long - it's been sent through regular mail, that's why the arrival date is that way. Anyhow, there's no tracking and that date is very rough. It could come well before that. It's just waiting I guess. At least it's confirmed

How are you guys finding out about this? I get e-mails from someone website when places have them in-stock but I just keep getting e-mails about Amazon.com and bundles for $1K or more.Comment

That send me emails when stuff is in stock. With gamermill, you only subscribe to items you want to so that you only get emails about items that you'd actually purchase, not those megabundles. This way you'll only get emails that matter.
This morning it was real luck though, and a rareity. I remember yesterday afternoon, I got informed that just the platinum system was in stock at Kmart. I rushed there but it was already gone - only in stock for like 5 minutes (you can look at the history of the instock/sold out listings). I was 1 minute late. It's incredible that CC had them in stock for an hour. They must have had a ton to unload. I was relieved when I saw that my actual system shipped and was given a tracking number.
Just hang in there. More and more systems are available, and you just have to keep a lookout. And you have to be fast. I'm on the net almost all day, and do my work from home, programming at my own pace so I have more time to look for 360s. I'm lucky in that respect.
