    It's over..

Well, I got the console on December 2nd in France, and since then I was playing it non-stop and it worked just fine with no problems what so ever.
Today, December 28th, I turned it on and got the 3 red lights..immediately turned it off and tried again, but to no avail..it was dead..
Tried all the things Microsoft are suggesting but nothing worked.
Since I live in Israel, where the 360 isnt officialy distributed, I now am the owner of a very expansive door stop and a couple of fancy cup coasters.

Just had to write it somewhere..

It is still under Microsoft's 90 day warranty.

Yeah well Microsoft are not going to distribut the console in Israel, so im guessing there isnt tech support here either

I'm thinking that it's worth a try. Call em up and see if they'll let you ship it to Texas. Maybe they'll just make you pay for the shipping fees (since it's overseas).

Is there anything in the documentation that says they can't fix your console since you live in Israel?

              It does
there is a section that says "Territories" that lists the countries that the warranty is valid in , and Israel is not one of them.

MS should be ashamed of themselves, so many defective consoles, one of which being mine. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. 4 of my friends got 360s as well and 2 of them have defective consoles. Unacceptable.

How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

thats what happens when you want to rush out a system and get a head start against the competition.

Do you know anyone in territories that are covered by the warranty? If not, check someone in the states that might help you out. I'm sure someone on this board might help possibly if there's enough trust established. I would help but I'm in Chicago and that's a little waste of time and money. Just a thought since you have nothing to lose. Sorry to hear this man.

Im waiting for an answer from Microsoft and see what they have to say about the situation.
Other then that, hoping I could send the console to someone in France and see if I could get it fixed there.

Sadly it seems that Nintendo is the only one that tests the crap out of their systems.

Sony and MS should be disapointed with how many XBoxes and Playstations go bad. That's the downside of this industry. The 360 is the start. If people think Sony will be better, think again. They did after all get sued and had to settle a suit that showed they were at fault for faulty DVD drives in their PS2s.

The PS3 won't be any different than the 360 is now. It's how it is, sadly.

Being first to buy the new toys always has a risk.
If my system went bad on me, i'd be mad too. At the same time I know the risks. People that go onto message boards and read about the technology are educated on this and they do know the risks. It's just crappy when a systems craps out and it happens too yours.

                            Right on that.

I had an Xbox go bad with the crappy DVD drive, the second Xbox I got had the Samsung drive and worked like a charm till I got the 360. I had a few PS1's die, and a PS2 die also.

Both Sony and MS need a little work on their quality control..

Hey Zeke don't forget the original Playstation that had overheating issues as well. I remember hearing stories that some had to put their systems in a vertical postion so it wouldn't overheat.

The weird thing is every product from Nintendo i've owned has never had a problem (N64, GBA, GBA SP, GC, DS).
