    PSP Online Capabilities

    How do you use the PSP online? I have one but dont know how this works. How do you play games online with other people? Also, i heard somewhere you could browse the internet on them. How do you do this? Do you need to be near an internet connection making it useless ans i mine as well use the computer or is it all done wirelessly?

      Wirelessly. After 2.0 firmware update, if you are close to a wireless internet, you should be able to get on.

      Most games have Ad Hoc mode, which doesn't need internet. It's basically a LAN game type thing. Other games have Infrastructure mode, which is over the internet, like PS2 online.

          I used my PSP to browse the web for about 2 hours then I got sick of it and havn't done since. It's cool at first but it's really not practical.

              can be useful on trips if you don't have a laptop and the hotel has internet access...otherwise it's annoying to deal with, if you have a regular pc in the area

                  On there site(http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP.as...twork_200.html) i see it says:3. Connect to the network. When a network connection is established, the system will check whether an update is needed.

                  4. Download the update data.

                  How do i download it though? Whenever i click on connection (I have the WLAN switch on) it says A connection error has occured. The access point was not detected. Do i need it plugged in or pointed at something to download theupdate? How do i download this?

                      OK, disregard my previous post. I was able to get Version 2.0 as my brother just bought a new game. This gives me the browser. How do i use this though? I have my WLAN switch on but it says when i typed in a site. A connection error has occurred. The access point was not detected. Connection Name Connection 1 SSID. Basically what im asking is how do i get a connection? Right now im obviously by my computer. How would i get a connection here? How else do you get a connection? I saw something about hot-spots. What are those? Where are they? Im going away skiing and will be in a hotel for 3 days. How would i get access there?

                          Need a wireless router.

                          You can go online with the PSP anywhere where there is a "hot spot".

                              I have a wireless router for my computer. Where do i find these hotspots? Is there no other way? You cant plug it in or anything?
