PS3 Killer App for Launch

To make you a happy customer after you have purchased your PS3 on launch, which game do you hope launches with the system? Which game looks like a possible killer app?

I hope that both Killzone and Metal Gear Solid 4 launch with the PS3.

I think that if either game is released at launch they will possibly be the killer apps needed.

Maybe a much bolstered GT5 game would get me to think about purchasing at launch.

But then again, the system may cost a lot more than I'd be willing to pay so I might just end up buying the games first before the console. FFVII remake perhaps?

Are the games going to be released for sale before the system comes out, like they did for the 360?

I do not know if these dates are correct but it looks like a bunch are going to be available in March. Is this true or they just throwing something out there?

I was hoping Mlb 06: The show would be a option for the ps3 this year but I does not look like it.

I hope that GT Vision is ready with the launch because if not i'll wait. No offense Candyman but I personally would not expect for KZ2 to be a killer app when the first one was barely meh.

Now MGS4 will probably be excellent, now whether Konami can make it for a launch title waits to be seen. Keep in mine most killer apps show up after the first crop of titles hit the system.

MGS4 is supposed to come out at the end of the year. So if Sony launches in spring, then it won't be a launch title.

Unreal Tournament is launching with the PS3, so I'll take that for now.

Polyphony is really going to step up their game if they want me to consider buying it. I've been a longtime GT fan, but after seeing Forza's customization stuff, it even makes the ones in GT2 look like nothing (which IMO was the best one made).

MGS4 isn't a launch title unfortunately (unless PS3 launches Fall 06).

UT07 will be sick. It looks like it will be able to compete with Halo (I've never played UT before). AND they said UT is gonna have great online features, so yeah, I expect it to be great

Man, it sucks that neither of the games that I want MOST are coming out at launch. MGS4 and Final Fantasy. Damn.

Heavenly Sword is the only intresting looking game for me and it's a launch game but I'm not buying the system at launch cause I highly doubt I would end up a happy customer.

Yeah I know what you mean and I agree with what you say. The GT series always seem to push the graphics of the PS2 off the charts. Even though GT3 and GT4 was basically the same game with the exception of top notch graphics the gameplay has become stale.

After playing Forza it really shows the improvements GT5 really needs to make to push the series forward. If I see 6 cars again with braindead AI i'll pass. The only thing I still say that GT has over Forza are the graphics, they look sharper in Gran Turismo. Hopefully Forza 2 should look amazing can't wait for that either.

Why do you guys think Unreal is launching with the PS3??

The games producer seems to think otherwise.

PC first. We're not scheduled to be a ps3 launch title, not certain where those news sites are getting that from. There will be a pre-release demo (on the PC at least).

I'm still hoping for Killzone as a launch title. The PS2 version wasn't the best FPS ever, but it has been cool so far.
