    This selector is supposed to be good since it's powered. It's by Pelican, $99.

    * LCD Display (preprogrammed with popular AV devices: everything from N64 - PS3)

    * Aluminum cabinet

    * Clean modern design

    * Component video cable

    * Matching Remote

    * 5 inputs on back

    * 1 input in front

    * 1 output
    I have that one, the black version, works really nice, nicer than the previous Pelican switch.

      Return the one you got and buy the LCD one. You'll spend more buying Monster cables. The cables aren't the problem, it's the issue that the switch isn't powered.

        You don't really need to waste money on Monster cables. Best Buy carries Acoustic Research cables which are half the price which work jus as well.

          I agree, I don't have a single set of Monster Cables, nor will I, I have AR cables, much cheaper, works the same.

              Did you own the $20 selector? Does the LCD one provide high quality picture?

                No, I owned the old Pelican powered switch. The new one is amazing, LCD screen, switches optical and coax audio as well, has 2 outputs, and switches ethernet high speed internet. This is easily the best switch I've ever seen or used. The remote is very nice, the switch doesn't degrade the picture or sound one bit.

                  It's worth the $100 then? Gamestop told me they wouldn't take back the $20 switch.

                    Tell Gamestop the $20 doesn't work and you want credit back, not cash. Get the LCD one. If GS won't take it back, go to a different on.

                        Yeah, they have to take it back, it seriously doesn't work right for you. There's nothing on their receipt about it, I would ask for a manager or ask for a DM if they don't, it's only $20, but still. You'll like the LCD one though, I love it.

                          I just called the one that I have gone to for the last 2 years, and the girl said to bring it in and she'll exchange for me.

                          Extreme, does it come with any cables?

                            Component cables, s video cable... I think that's it. Maybe old composite cables too.

                              Did you use the components that came with the selector? I want to make sure before I spend another $80 that this thing is worth it.

                                Yep...I use my AR ones from the selector to the TV, but I use the ones that came with it for my DVD player.
