Play and Charge kit

I bought the Play and Charge kit for Xbox 360 today. If I have two wireless controllers and buy an extra battery pack, will this work out pretty well?

In Theory, yes.

If you use both of them equally as much then you may have to wait an hour for the one to charge while the other is inactive. They charge pretty fast.

You did what I did. Works great! No need to spend the extra money for two P&C kits

On Major Nelson's podcast this past week, he had the guy in charge of Accessories on and they talked about the play and charge kit. It is possible to charge your controller without the system on. You have to plug the controller up first, then turn off the system. This puts the system in essentially a "sleep" mode and charges the controller until it is fully charged, then the light on the plug turns off and the system turns completely off. This only works if you plug in the controller BEFORE you turn the system off.

Another quick question, is there a shortage of the battery packs too? Before 360 launched, I saw these battery packs everywhere. Now I can't find them anywhere. The cheapest I saw some were $10 plus shipping on Amazon.com.

I was at my local Best Buy yesterday, and I don't remember seeing any of them. They had HD's and almost every other accessory, but I don't remember seeing the extra battery packs. You are doing what I did, I bought the play and charge and an extra battery and just play one controller until it is almost dead, then play with the other one and charge the dead one. Very good idea from MS to come up with this thing.

Best bet would be to get those recharger packs. I think that a few of the stores are noticing that the recharger packs will sell like hotcakes. I bought a couple for my crib. Even though I don't have to use them just yet for the 360, I can use them for the remotes in my house, headphones and other things like that. Beautiful thing.

The battery pack is $10 - 12.

well i had to buy 2 play and charge kits... the only time i really play my 360 a lot is when me and my older brother are warring in nba 2k6 lol... i usually always have to recharge the batteries at the same time to continue playing.

Ive got a AA rechargeable battery pack for a digital camera. Do you think I can just use it and rechargeable batteries to put in the wireless controller?

If they are just regular AA rechargeable batteries, then yeah, they should work. Just make sure its not some kinda special thing just for the camera.

That's what I figured. They're just standard rechargeable batteries. Cool...saves $20 bucks.

Can any AA batteries be used for the wireless controllers?

I'm still debating whether to use the play and charge kit. Every semester I get $100 to use for on campus convenience stores and such, so I could just buy AA batteries from there to save myself the $35 for kit and extra battery pack.

Yeah, you can use regulars AAs.
