Are you sure you mean that? The console business is Sony's main profit center. The rest of the company is doing terrible.

There is no free lunch and to keep up, it is necessary to be willing to spend as much as the competition and so far Sony is not serious about online gaming. Sony should be concerned that their only profitable business is the playstation brand because the video game industry can change quickly and can be very treacherous. If they should start losing market share, they could be in trouble. The video game business is all about momentum and when you start losing momentum there is a tendency to keep losing it.

i hope they get it. there are so many MMO games coming out for 360. I mean come on there's gonna be that Marvel Hero game thats just like City of hero's and there's Saints Row where you can be a gangsta online and join online gangs. And all those FPS worlds that i keep hearing about where there'll be hundreds of people in the same world instead of just 16. man i can't wait for those games i hope ps3 will have something similar.

PS3 needs to hurry up and release more info so I can pick and choose what system I really want :o . Now that I know 360 has MMO games, they've got a chance with me!

i think saints row is gonna be better than gta cuz of the multi player world, thats whats gonna be so great for 360

True, that would be a good way to market the device. Demo's, patches, rosters, etc. If Sony wants an "Xbox Live experience", then the HDD will be a must and make it a pay service. People will complain, but if consumers pump money into the service, that will only make it better. Make it $50 like Xbox Live. If you get a few million subs, then you have the money to make the service that much better IMO.

almost every message board you go to the majority of sony's "fans" knock the most on xbox live because of the people paying for it, it will be interestin to see what sony does do

It is not any different than the PS2 model, it is still up to the developers. Sony just does not have enough money to be in the video game console business.
