    Getting friends on Xbox Live

    Pardon the rookie message, but I am a new Xbox 360 owner. After years of owning Nintendo products, graduating to the Genesis, then N64, and finally into both PS1 and PS2, I have finally found the holy grail of gaming and it is the new Xbox.

    I am just blown away by simple things like using the dashboard. I don't really play online that much, and I don't even own any games yet (waiting for new games besides launch titles), but I would like to get some OS people into my friends list. It seems so empty when I go into that section and even the Xbox reaffirms that I have "no friends"!

    I know that you send out friend requests, but I am not sure how to do it, or some people will be like, "who is this random guy who wants to be my friend?"

    Since I really owe my transition from the PS2 to being an Xbox person to this forum I would like a chance to interact with more of you. My gamertag (getting pretty good at this Xbox lingo!) is PJHCubsRule. Any advice here?

      Go to the XBL Gamertag thread in the online subsection of this forum and post your gamertag there. Then just start adding people who have posted their tag in that thread. Mention in your Friend Request that you are from OS. You'll have friends in no time.

          Yeah. That will work, I mean, most of the people on my list are from OS.

              Thanks! I will post my gamertag in that thread. Also, how do I mention the OS connection in my friend request? I tried it once and it said I can add an audio message the friend request - is that what you mean?

                  You can add an audio message or a text message. I usually just go for the text message.

                      After I type in the gamertag for the friend request it seems like my only option is to "add voice" or "send request". How do you edit the text on the right of "PJHCubsRule wants to be your friend"?

                          I thought the 3rd option was to add a text message to your request... I remember doing just that...

                              For some reason I don't get that option. That is what I was wondering - if I was doing something wrong. I just checked again and I don't have an add text message to your request option. Thanks for the responses and sorry to be such a geek about a simple thing like this...
