Screw it man, just buy it. It's only money.

Play it for a week, if you don't like it, sell it on Ebay for 5 bucks less than you purchased it for.

I heard a lot of good things about it but didn't particularly enjoy it. The game basically starts you off from the same location every time. You go out, find a giant monster, figure out how to kill it, rinse and repeat. There may be more later in the game but I havn't gotten there yet.

Pretty much nailed it. I bought it for the wife who is into RPG, she can't kill one of the monsters so she gave up. Game has good graphics though.

                        Re: shadow of colossus ps2?

The game is pretty straight-forward and not terribly difficult. Its basically just 16 boss fightes with a little adeventuring in between. There are some extra things to do as well.

I thought it was very fun and a well-conceived title. At first there doesn't seem to be much there as far as a storyline goes but towards the end it develops more and culminates in one of the best endings I have experienced in a videogame. The epic scope of the boss fights are pretty intense and each one is different from the previous one and they get harder and harder as you progress through the game (though I ever found any to be overly difficult, in fact, I never died once). The fights are so enjoyable you'll probably want to play them more than once as some are really creative. One has you hide from the beast in a crevice in a wall so that when he peaks in to look for you you can jump out and grab ahold of his massive beard to climb ontop of his head. Others have you climbing onto flying creatures or sea-dwelling ones and going for a ride. It's all pretty cool and worth checking out. The game last for about 10-12 hours if you just plow through it but there are bonus features and few secrets to uncover so you may be better off just purchasing it vs renting.
