    Has anybody seen this.....

I'm not really looking at this to really use for anything else if I got it, but do you guys think you can use this a roster device ala Action Reaplay. Like someone do rosters then save it to there regualr HD, then transfer it to this little HD, then hook it up to your PC and then save the file to your PC then share it with others. It's juts a thought, do you guy's think it could work.

Assuming you can put game saves on this device, sure, it'd work. That's the thing, though. I have a USB Flash Drive that I can use to transfer pictures to my XBox, but that's it. Other than that, it has no usefulness with the console.

exactly...i think it's just an expensive USB hard drive...current USB drives (not with a pretty X on them) allow you to do the picture and music thing, but I don't think anything can deal with saves yet

You won't be able to save anything on this drive. It's the same as putting any other USB or external drive to your 360.

Well, maybe, but we don't know that yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it included some sort of boot CD that would allow us to transfer save files from the HD to the USB device.

Datel will be sued by MS since MS has made it known that no save transfer devices can be released.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't similar lawsuits taken place in which the console makers all LOST? Didn't Nintendo sue Gameshark but lose, way back when the thing was first released for the very first NES?

I don't know if there's anything Microsoft can do about it, to be honest with you. It doesn't bare the "Official Microsoft Product" emblem, therefore they aren't claiming to be an official product.

The only thing MS can do, really, is to void the warranty of any XBox 360 that has had one of those things hooked up to it. I know something similar happened with an old PS2 of mine, when I told the rep I was using an offbrand memory card that didn't have the PS2 logo on it.

Nope no "Game Saves" this product was already reviewed last week by Lik Sang and here is a quote:

"This new device is connected to the 360 via the USB connection, same as any other portable PC hard drives or USB drives would be, and it does not offer the same range of options as the official HDD does (no game saves, no going online, only media files transfer)."

From our point of view, the coolest thing about it is probably the greenish power button drawing on the top of the product. Or arguably the fact that a green glowin' light comes out of the USB connector when you slot it in your console [wow]. Lik Sang is not convinced if this gimmick will prove to be cool enough for geek-chic circles and hardcore gamers out there.
