What Causes 360 to Freeze?
I read at 360 insider that freezing is NOT a hardware problem, but a software issue. Apparently, they say games are coded in certain ways that will cause lockups. As developers become more familiar with hardware, they are able to code around these issues. I've had 2 frrezes since getting the 360 (total playing hrs approx 15) They occurred on NBA 2k6 and COD2. However, many of you who returned your console did so because it was freezing and, I believe, the problems stopped when you got your new console. Can anyone confirm if its a software or hardware issue? Should I return my unit?Tags: None -

Re: What Causes 360 to Freeze?
Alright, all I want to know is whether you would recommend returning it to MS if it has frozen 3 times but has otherwise worked without dirty disc problems, etc. If your unit froze 3 times, is it time to send it back? The only downside I could think of would be to get a refurb. Wouldn't want that.Comment

MS Refurbs....
the only thing i'll say is that MS garuntees theirs like a new system. after working retail for 3yrs (eb, gamestop, FYE) and selling their refurb systems. I can only think of maybe 2 instances of having a refurb get returned. At least MS has a refurb program that works.
Sony doesn't, they leave it up too the retailers to do it = not a good idea. They are too busy making new units.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
