LOL i'm thinking of buying a PSP Entertainment Pack. If I buy it it'll be from Target and get their 3 yr warranty.

Is it a good time to buy a PSP or should I wait? Has the screen pixel problem been fixed?

I see the PS3 has you riding the Sony High Horse. Don't laugh, I'm thinking that eventually I may be getting a PSP also since now the PS1 downloads are starting to show up.

He means that you can download from the Sony Store to your PS3, PS1 games for $6. You can then transfer them to your PSP.

Guys, the PSP is the most impressive console in years. Far more impressive feel than the 360 or PS3 right now . . . . tremendous leap in quality over all handhelds before it, a much bigger jump than from PS2 to PS3 or XBOX to 360.
Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!

The PSP is a nice handheld don't get me wrong, but I don't see it being more impressive than the DS gameplay wise. Last time I owned one was a year ago, and the games weren't impressive at the time, so I wonder if in the last year there has been better games out? I still think the DS rules.

Like Rod said, right now you can only download the PS1 games to the PS3 to be transfered over to the PSP so you can play those games on the PSP. Come January like Extreme said last night, in the next firmware upgrade you will be able to play these downloaded games on the PS3 also. For $6, that is a steal compared to the prices on the XBLA and VC for certain games.

Not right now. I just bought that LCD, PS3, and the Wii within the last month, a PSP would really break the bank. If I see more downloadable favorites coming, then yes I will get a PSP when it has dropped to $150.

Does anyone here have Medal of Honor: Heroes or Brothers in Arms: D-day? If so tell me what you think of them. I'm thinking about buying a psp and those are a couple of main reasons why.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops....this game is just crazy good. Reason enough to get a PSP.

AH. Not interested in a PS3 for the price its at. It would be fun to get some old PS1 games unto my PSP but oh well.

It's nowhere near as impressive as the DS/DS Lite gameplay-wise. Note I DIDN'T say graphics-wise.

But gameplay-wise, the DS/DS Lite offers much more innovation than the PSP due to the dual screens and touch screen capability. That has changed the way developers design games and gamers play games as much as the Wii.

The PSP is a nice machine, no question. But it's essentially a portable PlayStation, hence the name. The DS Lite is a portable machine that has brought an entirely new style of gameplay to the virtual table.

Plus the DS/DS Lite software lineup is more unique. You won't find anything like Meteos, Electroplankton, Brain Age/Big Brain, Nintendogs, Cooking Mama, Trauma Center etc., on any console or handheld, except Trauma Center has been ported to the Wii. Those might not be your style of games, but they are fun as hell. And they're unique as hell.

The PSP is stuffed with ports of PS2 games. You're basically playing the same games that you did on the PS2. There may be variants introduced into the PSP version, but every game you cats have mentioned already has been developed for a console.

                            Take care,
                            PK

                              What he said.

I did pick one up and it's pretty sweet and I bought for three reasons:

                              1) Music
                              2) PSP Games
                              3) PS1 Games on the PSP.

Like PK said and everyone knows the PSP suffers from PS2 ports although their are some games for the system that was designed around it's strengths. Games like Daxter, Metal Gear Ops, Loco Roco, Tekken: Resurrection, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Wipeout, Ridge Racer.

While this is a drop in the bucket compared to the innovative and fun games the DS has it shows that the PSP is capable of some solid games if developers don't take the easy and lazy way out.

I like my PSP better than my DS. Madden, MLB 06, TOCA, Vitua Tennis, Tiger Woods, and Winning 11. Sport games blow the DS out of the water and I was very disappointed with Star Fox, Metriod Prime, and Mario and Donkey Kong games. The stylus didn't anything to the game play.
