Why cant I send Game Invites? (360)

Last night I'm playing Fight Night and four people on my friends list are playing it too. I tried to send them a game invite but it was grayed out and I couldnt send one. Has this happened to anyone else?

try sending it from the games "play a friend" in the lobby

you have to create a game session from the main online menu... when u go online, press "X" and create a session, afterwards the 360 dashboard/blade (whatever u wanna call it) will come up and show your friends list and who u want to invite to the game
