Re: Xbox 360 vs. The Public Good
I think that this article is good and it goes with what I was saying that the 360 released a few months too soon. If MS would have waited say till January or February 2006 to release the 360, the launch would have been even better. Games wouldn't have been rushed in development and people would not complain about having issues with their systems and the shortage would not have been as bad if there would have been one at all.Originally posted by Cyros
I did buy my system on launch and I don't regret doing so. I feel that this could have been handled a bit better by all parties involved.Comment

Sums it up pretty much for me too. Didn't get it on launch but rather closer to the Christmas Break. I can only hope that their upgrades bring about some good stuff for the future. I wish they would have waited a bit to tweak a few of those games that were lacking some gameplay elements. It's good stuff though. i think they can definitely do big things. I do think that the next-gen will be embraced pretty well closer to the Christmas break and next year. Can't wait to see what the PS3 has as well as the Revolution. It does makes slight sense how Microsoft is helping out the other two companies.Originally posted by candyman56I think that this article is good and it goes with what I was saying that the 360 released a few months too soon. Re: Xbox 360 vs. The Public Good
I'm in the same boat as you. My system hasn't been used that much either. I played Quake 4, NBA2K6, Madden, FNRD3, COD2, FIFA 360 (demo), and NFS:MW (demo). I can't wait for these coming months as we will finally start getting games like GRAW that will really start to push the hardware. Not saying the games above haven't, but I really think that GEARS OF WAR will showcase much about the system.Originally posted by gr8fuldaveI bought mine on launch day as well, but haven't really played it much short of beating Quake, Condemned, COD2, and playing Tiger. It heats up in less than two weeks with GRAW and Hoops, then BF2, and later Far Cry.Comment

You gotta get online to play GRAW man. If it's like the other Clancy games, its 10x better online than off because you're not dealing with AI. I think GRAW will push the 360 more than we've seen so far, but I agree that GOW will be THE showcase game for the 360, much like NBA2k6 was THE game at launch. I'm not a big fan of the NBA, but I've rented 2k6 two or three times just to show it off to folks who haven't seen the system yet.Originally posted by candyman56I'm in the same boat as you.
