Can you buy it at most places yet? Or is it still rare to find? Are there any waitlists still? Just curious

The answer is YES! My Best Buy had 6 Cores and 2 Premiums on the floor. If you don't see it on the floor at your local retailer ask an attendant. My local EB has filled all it's orders and has at least a Core and or Premium system for walk ins.

They are a lot easier to find now Cman.

I was just wondering, I've had mine since launch. It took MS till March to fullfill all preorders that were outstanding. WOW!. The good games are starting to drop.

That was to be expected and MS has done an outstanding job in addressing and fixing the problem. Bringing the third plant online was the right call and will help Microsoft expand to places like Korea and China when the time is right.

Keep in mind It took Sony around the sametime maybe a little longer to supply more PS2's to retail when they first launched back in 2000.

I remember that in 2000. It appears like PS3 is launching early next year, I guess this was a good move by MS albeit the shortages.

My walmart in my tiny town has a few premiums, I think they are pretty much everywhere.

Local Gamestop is taking preorders again for the very next shipment so I guess they've finally filled their preorders.

The chain stores like Wal-Mart here have them. Only one or two but they have them.

I got mine at Blockbuster so it only ended up costing $420 Canadian.(that's with tax)

I don't know about this readily available situation people are talking about, Im still trying to find a premium and have yet to see any around metro Detroit area. I have seen the core but have yet to see any premiums. If I buy the core then I need the HD and those seem harder to find than the freakin system. Funny how I see 4 cores at Walmart and nothing at Best Buy, isnt Best Buy in the technology business?? I just downloaded that Best Buy tracker and used it all last week and nothing so far.

I don't think it's "readily available" either, at least in my area... I got my premium system a couple of weeks ago, but I've still seen people having to ask in the stores by me (WalMart, Best Buy, Circuit City), only to be told "No, not yet"... Maybe in another month or so, it will be "readily available".

I got mine a week ago and 3 different stores in my area had them.
I live right outside of Cincy and they are not hard to find now!
