    Lag on 360 Live

So Im new to Xbox and playing online in general. I was wondering what causes Lag and how to prevent it in Xbox Live. My hookup is through router with high speed cable internet. I use an ethernet cable from the router to the 360, and wireless to the laptop.

The only game I play is Fight Night. My cpu says my connection is excellent, if I have the internet up on my CPU can that cause Lag on the 360?

    Thanks for the help.

if u have an excellent connection but still experiencing lag, it's more than likely that it's not your fault... sometimes it's the game... or the person ur playing with... i used to lag sometimes in HALO 2 cuz 1 person's connection was just not up to par with the rest of us. Other times when i used to try and play NBA Live 05 with a friend on xbox live who had basically the same connection as me, it would lag also.

Yes it will since both your PC and the 360 are grabbing at the same Internet connection (aka bandwidth) speed. So basically if you have a 2 meg interneet connection and you're downloading a file at say 1meg a second, then the 360 only has 1 meg to grab from, not the 2...

Then you take connections like say, DSL that's 700k... if you are downloading a file at say even half that rate, then the 360 is only grabbing at half that.

I hope that answers your question.

So, in other words, don't try and download or do to much on your network if you're using your 360... if someone else is using a CPU webbrowsing or such you won't notice much for issues.... just any hard downlaoding, that's where you'll possibly see some noticable issues.
