Anyone going to purchase the DS Lite?

Crazy or not, I sold my PSP the other day. I bought it a few months after launch and I simply did not play it enough to warrant keeping it. There just were not enough games that interested me, and I was a bit disappointed with the load times, controls, etc. Also, it was a chore taking it places as I was always worried about damaging it by either dropping it or scratching it. It was too bulky to comfortabley carry around in your pocket along with the case.

The more and more I read about the DS Lite, the more interested I become. It's similar to the GBA-SP in size and seems small enough and durable enough hide it away in your pocket. Plus, I like the clamshell case. More than that, there are several games that interest me that are fun pick up and play games. One thing I wish Nintendo would implement is the quick shut down, where you can come back and resume playing where you left off like on the PSP.

The PSP is popular and will continue to sell well, but I do think their next version will be even better. I think they need to make it less fragile and a bit easier to carry around. I most likely gave up on it too early as there are several big titles on the horizon, but for whatever reason I'm very excited about the DS Lite.

Anyone else looking forward to the Nintendo's new "revised" handheld?

A lot of people are dumping PSP's. My EB has 9 used one's and if you visit DSP, you'll see a few for sale there too.

I still think it's an amazing system, just the games are all ports.

The new DS looks great, almost tempting to ditch my current DS towards it.

if you're playing a DS game you can just close the shell and it powers down, almost like a "pause" function.

when you open it again the system comes back on.

that doesn't work for GBA games.

I'll probably get one too I just want to see the size first, but i'm afraid it might be too small. If I don't use the add on grips for my DS my hands start hurting within 20 minutes.

        The DSlite looks way cool.

I'm really interested in a navy blue ds lite, especially since my regular DS won't charge anymore >_<.

I'm going to try and resist the urge to get the DS Lite and just stick with the current model, but it will be hard. Anyone know what the trade-in value is for a DS right now? If its high enough, I'd consider trading it and putting the credit towards a DS Lite. Thats what I did with the GBA when the SP was announced, though that was different. The SP improved upon the GBA by leaps and bounds by adding the backlight and clamshell design, while the DS Lite is mostly a cosmetic upgrade (though with a brighter screen).
