Microsoft's XBOX Standing
I was reading something somewhere talking about how Microsoft wasn't really supporting the XBOX anymore. Looking at Sony and Nintendo (to a certain point), both are supporting their "current-gen" systems for a few more years and all. I thought about the whole picture and saw how supportive those two companies are. Looking at all the games that are suppose to be released by the end of this year also, it doesn't seem like too many XBOX exclusive titles are in the works for being released. I know the XBOX 360 is released and games are coming out almost every 3 weeks with regularity, but do you guys thing that it's a slightly foolish idea for Microsoft to be hanging it up on their little black stallion so soon? I mean, there are so many games that can be made to still give them some revenue for the slow season they'll probably get from the XBOX 360. I personally feel that Microsoft should try to get a few companies to start some kind of franchise on the XBOX. XBOX still has a lot of life in it honestly. If PS2 is going to be around for at least 2 more years, so should XBOX in my opinion. Drop the thoughts and ideas.......Tags: None -

Once the other two systems drop, I'll be very surprised if Sony and Nintendo support their old systems.Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Microsoft's XBOX Standing
Yes it's a shame but MS has kicked the Xbox on the curb no more 1st party support but that doesn't affect 3rd party games. Their plan is to bring all future titles to the 360.
Nintendo has not stated one way or the other but I expect Zelda to be their last GC game as the Revo is 100% backwards compatible.
Sony is the best of the three and it appears they will support the PS2 for a couple more years, just like they did with the PS1.Comment

Re: Microsoft's XBOX Standing
MS' Peter Moore said last fall at a game show in Amsterdam that more Xbox titles would be released in 2006 than in any prior year of the console. But I doubt many of them will be Xbox-exclusive, as developers are focusing on the 360.
Still, there have been more new games released this year for the Xbox than for the 360, with ease, so I don't think MS is abandoning the big, old black box.
Take care,

Re: Microsoft's XBOX Standing
Originally posted by ExtremeGamerSome, they released 2 games this year. TWO! And I think they released 5 first party games last year. The Cube is dead. Been dead for 2 years like I said.
I was talking about in-house games being produced by the company. Only Sony is doing that. Now that I guess Nintendo is "dead" on the gaming consoles, let's just keep this between Sony and Microsoft. I personally think that Microsoft could use a few titles to attract some of the casual gamers. Not that they need more, but there isn't anything wrong with having a healthy following that could potentially turn into a next-gen conversion. I think that's why Sony put out their Slim PS2 also. If they get more people to buy it, they'll buy into Sony as a very capable company and could eventually get a PS3. I guess I don't understand exactly what business Microsoft is dropping. I personally would buy more PS2 games since they'd end up cheaper on ebay and for other reasons, but that's just me. I have the 360 but I just think that it would have been sweeter if they had some exclusives still coming out for the XBOX. Maybe it just makes sense to me.......
