My Child of the 80's Dream Game: G.I. Joe for the 360

Think about the possibilities this game would have and the potential of the online play. You could choose from classic characters like Duke, Flint, Cobra Commander, or Destro, obviously the list goes on. Hell, even off of an engine like GRAW or Splinter Cell and you have an instant platinum game.

What would distinguish this game from any other FPS or war-type of game? I'm definitely liking that G.I. Joe could be a game, but I'm also not sold on it being a platinum hit. There has to be something else.......

    Not disrespecting you.

Name recognition alone would do it to be honest. I am 27, I watched it as a kid, and whereas I am still in Law School and not yet working, a lot of people from say 23-35 are and would buy it in a heart beat.

I don't know what the Transformers games sales on the PS2 looked like, but IIRC the game was horrible. The key would be making it off of an established engine of a current game and actually marketing it.

I would want a GI Joe game to be done in the cartoon style graphics...I don't think a GRAW engine run GI Joe game would make me care any more, the look would have to take me back down memory lane

Transformers would rock with a modern game engine, amazing to think what they could do

But if it's G.I. Joe, that means no one can die? How fun would that be?

True that, and I would suppose the aiming would be attrocious, seeing as those clowns couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from a foot away. Although I remember one episode where they took out some dude's house which of course lead to some glorified PSA about the problems of violence.

If you have Battlefield 1942 for your PC, there was a GI Joe mod, it was incredible. I used to play it with a bunch of friends every night.

Yeah, this game if done right (which would be my biggest fear) it could really take on some of the best elements from every popular game in the genre.

Seriously, imagine how awesome a Capture the Flag game would be in a sprawling environment. Or a Splinter Cell type of espionage game at the Cobra or G.I. Joe command center? This game would also possibly lend it self to arial and naval combat as well. Hell, they could really turn this into a mega franchise if done correctly. God I hope someone at Hasbro sees this, and we all know William "The Refrigerator" Perry could use a royalties check.

I saw that on a Google search for info on a video game.

I'd definitely want it in cartoon form myself. I'd also want EA to stay as far the hell away from the game as possible. Nothing against them but you know....They are a hell of a marketing company. Maybe they could publish it, but it definitely has to be developed by someone else. And they're trying to make a Transformer video game that should be released sometime near the movie next year. I hope that one isn't cartoonish. I use to watch both. Definitely could see some greatness happening on the 360.

That would be my biggest concern, if EA got a hold of it somehow. They'd know the G.I. Joe name would sell a lot of copies and would put little to no effort into it if they controlled the programming. I'd also hope it would be completely independent of a movie release, as we all know the track record of Movies turned into games just to sell more product.

Or they could put this one up in the XBL arcade since it's already good: http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/arcade3/01/59.html

That'd work too, but I'd prefer a real game.

don't really have a response to the subject at hand but man that is one funny screen name.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
