XBox 360 Problem - Any help ??

I'm a new Xbox 360 owner since this past Sunday. My system was manufactured in February 06 according to the product label on the
back.

I am having a problem with the dreaded "dirty disk" or the "frozen screen"
errors (ala regular Xbox). This does'nt affect all of my games. I have only seen this happen in NBA 2K6 and Madden 06. My GRAW (thank god) is not affected by this thus far !!

Has anybody seen this on there XBox 360 ??? Is it something that can be fixed by some magical human generated trickery ?? Could I have a bad 360 system ?? Like I said, I'm new to the 360 so I'm not sure how to proceed.

This really sux. Did you also buy the extended warranty?

NBA and Madden get a lot of freezes, if it's not happening anywhere else, it's probably just your discs.

Like EG said both those games you are having issues with, others are having problems as well and it appears to be disc related and NOT system releated.

Try to exchange the games for new ones if you can.

This really sux. Did you also buy the extended warranty?

I bought the 1 year "even if you drop it or an elephant sits on it" replacement warranty at EB. In fact I just called them and they said that I could get it replaced once they get more systems (who knows when that will be )

Well atleast I have GRAW to keep me occupied

my question is, once you get it replaced, is the warranty now void and you have to buy a new one for your new system?

if so, thats essentially wasting 30-40 bucks.. I'd try to avoid using the warranty

Yeah, I thought about that too and the manager told me that since I just got the system on Sunday they would apply the replacement warranty to the replacement system.......no loss, woohooo !!!

EB's extended warranty policy goes like this. They will replace any defective system within the manufacters warranty on a unlimited basis.

After the 90 day period you are only allowed a 1 system exchange and at that point you can decide to purchase another extended warranty to start your new warranty.

The same applies for Best Buy except they offer a 2 year extended warranty.

That's why I always suggest MS's warranty for 2 years. Your system could breakdown 3x in 2 years and they'll fix it or replace.

You're lucky Cman cause I live in Florida and that's one of the States where the MS extended warranty is not offered for legal reasons. So some of us have to go the EBgames or Best Buy route.
