That's the best graphics of all time right there and I assume it's actually being run and played by someone in those clips. Amazing, truely amazing.

So I guess they now have the best engine available. It kills Unreal Engine 3 in my opinion.
The best thing about it was the lighting and animation of the guy running.

That is what I was hoping next-gen to be, not the current crop of 360 stuff.

I hope it comes to 360, because right now it's only PC.

Gamespot has a streamable verison over on their site.

It shows volumetric clouds, amazing lighting, and i swear the best visuals of any game to date.... showing realtime action outside in the jungle. it looks VERY real. I can't wait for this generation of gaming to kick into full gear.

In my opinion, the Project Offset Engine is still the most impressive engine, but I doubt neither that or CryEngine 2 are as intuitive/easy to use as UE3. A lot of talk that was taking place at GDC was about the costs of art, rising costs due to efficiency issues, and bad planning. UE3 is definitely the kind of middleware that devs need to cut down time and keep costs low. 22 studios have licensed the enigine. It's hard to say one engine is better than the other just because it looks better.

GameInformer has a short preview in the latest issue, and they have Crysis listed as PC/360/PS3.

What you can't read the article or watch the video?

Because it's not for Insiders only, unless you're talking about the HD version of the video.

Yeah Project Offset looks great but it's still a demo/work in progress type technology whereas that Crysis video is realtime gameplay isn't it?

It has everything, huge environments, skylines, lighting and shadows, the best animation ever, awesome models etc and decent physics.

I hope the 360 can handle this engine because it's gonna be disappointing if PC's (no matter how expensive they are) can outdo the 360 so quickly.

There's a normal and hi-res version of the clip at gametrailers...

                  Here's a pic from IGN!

Jesus' PC would'nt be able to run this game. You'll need a R2-D2 droid as an USB attachment just get this puppy booted up.

I downloaded it last night from Gametrailers. I just wanted to see the high definition one. I saw this Crysis engine before. It looks pretty amazing. There was something that kind of got me a little. The timing of impact when the truck crashed into the little building. It was a little off cause part of the building starting crumbling before the truck hit. But hot dam (in the river) everything else was amazing. Too darn photorealistic. I know one thing, those first person shooters might get more realistic and gruesome. Those who have a hard time, beware.......

Yes, you're right Project Offset is still just an engine, whereas CryEngine 2 is being used for a game.

Yes, the 360 and the PS3 can handle the CryEngine 2. Crytek disclosed to the press that there working on the next-gen consoles, that means it's obvious that the engine works fine on those consoles.

The PS3 will be getting a sub-architecture, because according to them, "The PS3 is a system which needs special adjustments particularly designed to cut on the PS3 architecture - a simple port doesn't work,".

it's gonna be disappointing if PC's (no matter how expensive they are) can outdo the 360 so quickly.
Well, I would say you could get hardware on the PC that would outdo all these next-gen consoles, but the closed environment will keep the 360 and PS3 competitive/ahead for awhile.
