Xbox 360 buzzing sound - Is this normal ??

Since I received it and started playing, my 360 unit will make a buzzing sound while playing games. Sometimes the buzzing sound is more prominent than others. Certain games cause the buzzing or humming sound to be slightly louder than others. Unfortunately I'm at work right now and can't confirm which games do what.

Is this normal??? Do you guys hear the same thing or could I have a faulty 360 on my hands ?? The games all work fine, so maybe I'm just being paranoid.....LOL !!! It is $400 were talking about here so I need some piece of mind.

Sometimes i get it also, only when im booting up games though.

It's normal....the xbox360 is a loud system but you'll get used to the noise eventually.

What I found was that my Fight Night was extremely loud making me quite uneasy. One of the best things I've done so far is put it horizontal. I didn't want to do it, but I'm so much more at rest with it like that because there's slight traffic in the den and a few people play the system. Putting it horizontal cut about 50% of my noise. Don't turn it while it's on and a disc is in there though.

I don't know about "buzzing" but a disc-spinning-like whirring sound is evident to me when playing games.

I returned my original one, and they sent me one back that has no problems and is as quiet as can be! The first one i had sounded like a jet engine.

It depends on the games you play. Some are worse then others. College Hoops for me sounds like a jet engine at times, but Oblivion is very quiet. Majority of the DVDs I play in it are also quiet.
