by IGN Staff
March 29, 2006 - World Cup fever is already starting to hit Japan, and not just on the real-life soccer field. Things are heating up in the videogame world as well, with a flood of soccer titles set to hit in April and May across all systems.
Xbox 360 isn't being left out of the fun, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals. Coinciding with the 4/27 Japanese release of 2006 FIFA World Cup, Microsoft Japan will release a special World Cup model of its next generation system. Known as the Xbox 360 Blue Limited Edition: 2006 FIFA World Cup Koushiki Kateiyou Game-Ki (Official Home Game System), the package includes the following items:
Xbox 360 system
20 Gig hard disk
Wireless controller
Media remote
Head set
D-Terminal HD-AV cable
LAN cable
AC adapter
Instruction manual
4 batteries
Adidas Japan Blue faceplate
Adidas Japan Blue original bandana (2)
2006 FIFA World Cup
The system ships in a blue-colored package and, with the special face plate, looks like it was pulled from an Adidas commercial.
Microsoft will release just 10,000 of these limited edition packages. Pricing is set at open.
