Thoughts on Gamefly???

Is it legit? Does it work? Considering I cannot rent XBOX360 games here in Metro Detroit I was considering signing up instead of making 60 dollar mistakes by blondly buying. Thanks in advance for thoughts and comments.

I haven't used gamefly in over a year, so other people can comment on the quality (may have changed)...but I agree, sucks that nowhere near me has 360 games to rent...

I have had GameFly for over a year now and it is great. Since they started doing FastReturn I have seen my turn around on games I have sent back increase greatly. As I see it, it is alot better getting 2 XBox 360 games at a time for just over $20 a month then it is to spend $60 on each game that comes out. This service is worth it, at least to me it is. My best advice is to try it using the free trial.

As I see it, it is alot better getting 2 XBox 360 games at a time for just over $20 a month then it is to spend $60 on each game that comes out. This service is worth it, at least to me it is. ...Also you can buy your rented games for about $45- $15 less than a new game purchased anywhere else. They send you the case and instruction booklet once you buy. I'm about to keep this Oblivion I have for about $42...

so you fill the form out and the game arrives two to three days later? Cannot find specifics on site?

Thanks for the info guys, it seems like a nice option....especially with games costing a whopping $65 total(tax) you can't geta mulligan any longer, this is big boy school.

i had it a while back then quit and now i have it again. sometimes it can take 5 days to get your game other times 3 days. I would recommend it, but also look at rentzero and gamerang too. but it helps not buying the 360 games, but the ones you know you have to play.

I've used it for 2 1/2 years, and up until a few months ago I had no problems. Lately it seems that their returns haven't come in as quickly, they're either understaffed or just don't check the returns in in a timely manner. 2 out of the last 4 games I sent didn't show up...after a week or two I emailed them with a lost game report and the reply said "while it's been scanned, we have yet to receive it". If it's been scanned, why didn't it show up as a Fast Return? I've had a lot of problems lately (used to ship a game out and they'd get it the next day...now I'm lucky if they get it that week, and I'm in California), and am contemplating trying to find another service.

Up until recently, I was their biggest supporter, but the frequency of their delays as of late really has me irritated. I'm 3 hours from their warehouse and it frequently takes 2 weeks to get a game back from the time I ship one out? Weird...

Yeah, Gamefly has seemed to get understaffed or something.

However, they're still awesome, and I recommend them fully.

They are alright, nothing that highly impresses me but I currently use them. I wish they would get more copies of newer and more anticipated games as well as update release dates for games. (took them until today to switch mlb 2k6 date from the 12th to the 5th, despite a press release) But still solid overall.

Just curious if anyone knows how there "report a shipping problem" works? MLB 2k6 is now in stock but they said they will "research the problem" on GTA: LC.

You basically click the link to report a problem, you choose what happened and send an email. Sometimes it takes them 24 hours to respond, other times it takes them 4 days. Typically they'll just write it off and send you the next game in your queue, but if you start getting quite a few they might flag the account and try to find alternate shipping methods.

Yeah I already sent the report I just wondered how long it would take for them to send out the next game. Thanks for the response. (my post office isn't that great unfortunately)

EDIT: I'll just upgrade to the 2-game plan for a month (or two maybe) so they send out MLB today (latest, tommorow)

Once they actually respond (not the automated instant response) they'll log it and ship same day usually. It's getting that response that takes forever sometimes.

Yeah since I updated they are in the process of shipping it out right now. That sucks about them being understaffed. (imo they need more staff, not less)
