Tomb Raider Legends Reviewed at IGN

    "Tomb Raider: Legend
It's now safe to return to the game you once loved. Crystal Dynamics succeessfully resurrects an old franchise from the tomb."

    Closing Comments
Though it's still tough to believe, Eidos' changing of the guard was the right one to make. Over the years Tomb Raider had become an regular indusry joke, and TR: Angel of Darkness was the epitome of Core's unfortunate demise. Tomb Raider: Legend, on the other hand, is an example of focused design, priorities, and good mechanics winning out over fancy cutscenes (Though Legend has its share of those too).

If you've been pining for a good adventure, Tomb Raider: Legend is waiting for you. The cliffhanger story is well put together. The action is simple and effective. The controls not only work, they're fun. And Crystal D has developed a bunch of great new locales filled with imaginative monsters, beasts, and bad guys to slaughter. Best of all, the sense of discovery and adventure is captured with a fresh sensibility.

      8.2..........That's pretty good.

I played the lights out of TR 1-3, after the third one I gave up on the rest as they were bad.

You'll see a little bit of aliasing in 480p on any system and occasional PS2 framerate hiccups. On 360, by bumping up the resolution to 720p you eliminate that issue. On 360 in 720p, you'll also get to appreciate the particles in the air, the atmosphere, the water, and the lighting at their full potential. Crank the res to 1080i and the effects are even greater, but the framerate drops a touch.
Hmmm...so is Tomb Raider: Legend the first non XBLA game to use a framebuffer larger than 1280x720?

Anyways, I really liked the demo, eventhough it took me 3 hours to download.

Tomb Raider II was SO good! Too bad Eidos Interactive is nowhere to be seen anymore.

If I had a 360, I would seriously check out this game.

How big is it? I was about to try to get online to download it but heck naw I'm not wasting all that time for that. I wish M$ would just come up with a way to download AND utilize your 360 for the things you want to do, game and stuff!!

Tomb Raider I was so awesome, I remember having so much fun with that game.

I'm downloading the demo. This game is so tempting to purchase.

630 something. We don't need reviews anymore when there's demos. I liked what they did with Angel of Darkness, too bad it was glitchy to the point of almost unplayable.

Downloading demos are kinda strange,I downloaded BF:2 took about 8 min.,I tried to dowmload TR,and after about 30 minutes I was only at 32% complete so i said screw it i'll just download the rest later.

I also downloaded the demo. I didnt expect much since they havent made a good tomb raider game for a while. But i was pleasently suprised. Its actually good.

I like the demo... just wish the controls were like the original Tomb Raiders... it takes a lot to get used to and sometimes the new controller scheme causes me to miss ropes that i'm jumping for... etc

overall, i think i'll buy it.

I've been playing the demo and I think that this game has a lot of potential. The environments remind me of the original and I remember how captivating TR1 was when I first played it. Some of the puzzles were tedious, but hopefully the puzzles in this game aren't as bad.

Slightly off topic, but is a Prince of Persia already in the works for the 360?
