Not really thats just normal beta testing; I've been involved with almost every Sony beta test... They're usually just stress test for the severs (and to look for other minor bugs) before the games ships.

Do you guys get paid for this?

I was looking for something part time that I could work out of my house since I have a full-time day job.

Yeah like the 2 TO bug in NBA 2K that took 3 years to fix

As much as it would be fun to play games for a living, I wouldn't do it. Even if that pay rate was a little higher.

It would ruin my enjoyment of not just the games I would test, but games in general. And I just wouldn't be willing to give that up.

The pay rate is interesting though. I was on holiday in Japan and noticed an ad for a full time game tester. We worked it out to be around $18/hr US, so that's a big difference. They didn't give a specific company name but it was a place that handled the employment of testers and distributed them to various gaming dev teams apparantly.

It doesnt ruin my enjoyment at all. youd be surprised man.

hehe - one of the first jobs i applied to out of college was a tester for Acclaim... yikes..

Want to explain why it was so bad?
