    Oblivion - PS3 and PSP...

If this Bethesda schedule is real, that is.

PS2 AMF Extreme Bowling 2006 (Mud Duck) 9-May-06
XBX AMF Extreme Bowling 2006 (Mud Duck) 9-May-06
    PS2 IHRA Sportsman Edition 9-May-06
    XBX IHRA Sportsman Edition 9-May-06
PS2 Pirates Of The Caribbean:Legend of Jack Sparrow 1-Jun-06
    PS2 Star Trek - Battlestations 6-Oct-06
    360 Star Trek - Legacy 6-Oct-06
DS Star Trek - Tactical Assault 6-Oct-06
PSP Star Trek - Tactical Assault 6-Oct-06
    PS3 Oblivion 6-Nov-06
    PSP Oblivion 6-Nov-06

This is pretty big news if this pans out, the 360's big gun goes multi-console. Interesting to see what kind of impact it'll have.

Doesn't surprise me at all, Oblivion was never listed at a 360 exclusive.

I think PS3 is a given, the PSP version is like w-t-f.

We all knew both companies were going to lose exclusives with the production values of games, but MS first party needs to crank it up because who knows how many 360 hits are going to launch with the PS3. If they announce say Recon, Rainbow, Oblivion etc... at E3 it's going to be a pretty big blow.

Sorry but the PSP can't handle Oblivion. It strains a High Spec PC and the 360. The PS3 is definately doable. I second Oblivion never being an exclusive to the PC or 360.

Well there is a Mobile Oblivion.

Rainbow Six Vegas is coming to the PS3, and it wouldn't suprise me to see GRAW either.

Not sure how this is a big blow to Microsoft. These games were never announced as exclusive, and will be nothing more than ports. Microsoft will have the channel full with 360's and great games, and will be able to capitalize on Sony's supply problems over the holidays.

It won't make any difference how bad/good PS3/360 games are in the holiday, PS3 will be gone for a few months a la 360. So MS doesn't benefit at all putting out it's big guns when the PS3 is out, they should release them without competition.

Come again? They need to put out its biggest guns when the PS3 comes out in order to cause anti-Sony love to arise. If they drop some of their great hits and throw blows not expected, they can cripple some of the sales Sony would have had if they were coming in with no conflicts. M$ needs to toss out cannons when Sony comes out and keep the prices as a main point for the difference between the two systems. I'm just curious to see how the kats behind the counter are going to sway customers. Already people are talking about waiting for the PS3 because of how it'll be 3X as fast as the 360. Ignorance is a killer.......

It's funny because where I live the sentiment seems to be the opposite this time around. Most of the shops I go to are Revo first, 360 second, and PS3 last. I rarely find someone who is just gushing over the PS3.

When the PS2 came out that's the way it was and even I got caught up in it. My feeling is MS will tease us and build the hype on it's internal killer apps while Sony is trying to supply the market. Then when PS3 supplies are coming around for Sony then MS will strategically begin dropping their high profile games.

IMO this is the best and most effective way of doing it. 1)Tease, 2)Hype, and 3)Release. Microsoft is just as good as Sony is playing this game.

I wouldn't think they'd put the full version on there. I mean they got GTA on there.

GTA and Oblivion are 2 completely different games. But I see a stripped down version of Oblivion, probably more stream lined and linear. But the graphics will probably look great.

PS2 sold a million last holiday, I don't care what MS puts in between Nov-Feb the PS3 shipments will be gone. They could have 1 launch title, everyone will still get them to make a killing on ebay. Dreamcast dropped hella bombs in 4th qtr 01 on Sony and it didn't affect anything, we'll see if Peter Moore gets it this time. If they drop GOW during launch it will have a weak impact because by the time Sony catches up with demand the game won't make a dent months after releasing.

Unless Oblivion is a stick figure or top down game, I don't see it happening.

PSP is slightly less powerful than a PS2. And back when Morrowind came out Bethesda said one reason it never hit the PS2 was because it couldn't handle Morrowind.

So think about it. The PSP isn't even a PS2 and the PS2 couldn't even handle the ugly Morrowind.

The game is on CELL PHONES, it can be done on the PSP. It obviously will take a hit in graphics etc... but it can be done.
