XBOX as DVD Player
Has anyone used the XBOX as a DVD player at all? I was wondering how the quality of the picture is and if it does damage to the DVD drive like it has for the PS2 in the past?Tags: None -
Re: XBOX as DVD Player
I don't think either one damages the drive by playing DVD's, but both the PS2 and XBox are crap for DVD players, with the PS2 only being a little bit better. The 360 is decent, but still, you are better off with a stand alone. The Xbox also isn't progressive scan, the PS2 and 360 are. -

Cool, thanks Extreme. I just bought another HDTV for my office and was hoping that the PS2 or xbox would do the job for a dvd player, but I didn't like it's quality picutre output. I think I'm going to get a player with HDMI.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerI don't think either one damages the drive by playing DVD's, but both the PS2 and XBox are crap for DVD players, with the PS2 only being a little bit better. You gotta ask yourself, are you gonna watch that many movies in your office? I know I've thought about that as well, but everytime, I say forget it because I'll never use it.Comment

I keep on battling over the same thought. I can't believe the xbox dvd doesn't support progressive scan.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerYou gotta ask yourself, are you gonna watch that many movies in your office?
