Guitar Hero II Track Listing

In the midst of announcing, to everyone's shuttering shock, that Guitar Hero II will be shown at E3 next week, RedOctane also revealed a teasing sample of the new game's 55-song track list. So, without further delay or unnecessary drum soloing, here are the songs announced so far:



"Arterial Black" by Drist

"Psychobilly Freakout" by The Reverend Horton Heat

"Strutter" by Kiss

"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath

"Who Was in My Room Last Night" by The Butthole Surfers

"You Really Got Me" by the Kinks, as performed by Van Halen

"YYZ" by Rush


In addition to announcing these initial tracks, RedOctane revealed that the new Hero will feature returning rocker Judy Nails along with a new Rockabilly character.


I never played the original, but hopefully it drops in price soon so I can pick it up.

I like the inclusion of Eddie V, and War Pigs is a good choice. I want to see the rest though.

I wouldn't expect the cost to come down at all, at least the bundle with the guitar controller (which is essential, IMO). I imagine the bundle will be discontinued once the sequel comes out and they'll start bundling Guitar Hero 2 with the guitar controller.

YES.

I can't say I really listen to any of these songs, but I assume they'll be fun to play. Obviously having recognizable names like Black Sabbath and Van Halen is good.

Honestly, though, the only reason I picked up the original was cuz "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand was on it, and I learned to like the rest of the tracks after I got it. Here's hoping they put a couple present-day alt-rock tracks on there, with any luck something by either Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, or Muse.

It's so fun it's stupid. It is one of those games you frown upon until you play it, then you wonder why you were avoiding it.

The first is one of the funnest games ever.
Having War Pigs and Strutter rocks. Not so sure about the rest. War Pigs is 8 minutes long though with what will probably be a tough part at the end of it.

I love that the Rev made the new tracklist... very cool.

This is one of my most anticipated games of this year.

Guitar Hero took me by surprise, such a fun game.
