What else did i miss :shrug:?

as you can see that is alot of stuff for just $640 bucks( with a few games and a control i say $800?. I know for a fact many have spent VERY close to that for a xbox 360 and heck some even on PS2 when it came out and was hard to find. As you can see None of those two have anything that i just mentioned, so just look at it that way and you can see it is not THAT bad.

Thanks for the lecture Richie Rich. But some of us don't have time to pull the silver spoon out of our a** to call our Swiss Bank Accounts to buy a new console that can't wash my ball$. For $600 US (without a game!) I expect them to be nice and clean.

P.S. If you truly believe that all the online gaming will be free then I've got some swampland in Florida I'd like to sell you.

Let's see...

I'm never going to use the $1000 blue-ray player, for one. DVDs are perfectly fine for me...so that right there basically makes the ps3 @ 600 not worth it to me.

If you believe you are getting a same quality Blu Ray player as a $1000 player, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Funny, I watched the entire press conference, backwards compatibilty wasn't mentioned once, unless I missed something. Not saying it won't have it, but it wasn't mentioned.

If you have a HDTV with HDMI (which I do) then it is worth it, & will save me 400.00..I'm getting a HD DVD player too..Im far from rich.. I just save a lot of my money..

why get an HD-DVD player if you plan on buying the PS3 with Blue-Ray. I for one never played DVD's on any of my consoles ever. My consoles are for gaming and gaming Only! A lot of people don't think about how fast they may burn out there Blue-Ray player by playing both games and movies, plus I would go crazy if that would happen after spending $600, because Sony gives you no comfort at all in a extended warranty like MS does for there systems. Just keep that in mind.

Cause as of now, a lot of films being released are only for Blu Ray..Inorder for me to watch my beloved Aliens & Terminator in HD I need to buy a Blu Ray player..I'm not going to wait to see who wins the format war, cause I believe this war will last at least a couple of yrs..

LOL at thinking i am rich, last time i checked i was living in the slums of Brooklyn NYC. All i know is that if you haven't been saving since the day PS3 was announced at E3 2005, then ya i guess this could be alot to take.

I personally didnt expect it to be this high but then i started to think of all the stuff i just mentioned and $599 Is not that bad of a deal after all. If you have a job and save 50 or 100 from the pay check, like i been doing this $599 price tag is not that extreme.

Socom on MS hardware? Socom is a SONY first party game so it's not going to happen...

Anyway, $600 is alot especially after paying $400-$600 for accesssories and games just a year ago for my 360 which seems to be VERY similar in graphic quality and PROBABLY gameplay too.
