Hmm, Sony also said Dual HDMI outputs...gone. They said no chance they were doing 2 SKU's...hmm, 2 SKU's. Just saying, Sony isn't very reliable to their word.

SMH dont take that as a negative, you already worrying about the $599 price tag, realize they probably stripped that feature for cost purposes and to get the cause to a point where SONY can make some profit. Remember Sony is not MS they actually need to manage their money and worry about it, MS doesnt need to worry about that kind of stuff.

Sony with PS3 is planning to keep it around for 10 years, they aint coming out with PS4 in 5 years, if anything the next Xbox which is coming in less then 5 years( knowing MS, dont be surprise) with HD-DVD Format Drive

you actually believe that the PS4 is not coming out until 2016? 10 years? We're talking 10 years man! I'll be 30 next month, you mean to tell me that I'll be 40 standing in line at the PS4 launch. Wow. If you believe that....Hell the xbox had plenty of life left in it but if MS was going to put a dent into the market, it had to bring on the 360.

Sony never says anything that is far from the truth....I mean the PS2 had Toy Story graphics and was like entering the Matrix...

I can totally understand it. Take out the dual HDMI's, it's useless for 99.5% of the public. What I'm saying is, I didn't hear the backwards compat, and if you guys say it was there, then I believe you. I was just saying, they talked about these other features or what not before, and then it wasn't mentioned at the PS3's official unveiling.

No, that was Sony with Toy Story. I've never heard the Matrix thing either side.

I wonder how much easier it will be for Sony to make their games BC with all the new technology and Microsoft has so much trouble with it. It'll be interesting to see if Sony can deliver.

I may be the minority but I could care less about BC. Never once played an old game on a new system.

MS problem with backwards compt was the change in graphics card. If the Blu Ray player can read CD's, it shouldn't be too much of a problem with Sony since they are still using the same graphics config.

i could not care less either but it would've been nice if a few games out recently were BC with 360. Hell in less than 6 months, it won't matter.

I cared about backwards compatibility till we didn't get any backwards compatible title updates. Once the new games started coming out, it became a non issue with me.

Blue Ray allows for easier backwards compatibility. Still, why put a Blue Ray player in the $499 model with no HDMI Jack ??? Like having a car with no gas pedal.

i personally don't care about blu-ray right now...and if anyone thinks the general gaming public (people not like us) will see 599 and "Blu Ray" and go "sure" right away then i think you're trippin. That price tag's up there, enough to take the PS3 away from a easy somewhat impulse purchase to something you have to think about. How's a kid gonna ask for a 600 buck thing? Try flying this past your wife for those that are married lol.
