Is it just me, or does anyone else prefer the old Shepard head model over the new one?

I would agree, but it really doesn't matter, since most will be creating their own Commander Shepard.

Wow, I must have totally missed that we can create our own. That was previously the only minus I saw to this game, having to use the default character.

Yep, from BioWare's Mass Effect FAQ

What options will be available to players concerning character creation? Will they be able to customize their squads?

Casey Hudson: You'll be able to adjust the appearance of your character, right down to facial shapes, skin tones, eye colors, and hair styles. And you'll determine your character class and set up your initial abilities. You can be a standard Soldier class, or an Adept (powerful with dark energy attacks), or an Engineer (able to do deadly tech-based attacks). And there will be other classes that combine the abilities of these three.

You'll also be able to do some things that take customization to a new level, like making choices about the kind of experiences you've had before the game started, like where you were born, and the kind of military service you've performed.

And over the course of the game, you'll continue to develop and improve your character – as well as each of the other characters in your squad – by adding new abilities, armor, and weapons that will make your experience in Mass Effect different from everyone else's.

Awesome, and once again, thanks for the info Flawless.

I've wanted this game since day one and it keeps getting better! Now if only we could use the vision camera to map our face into the game...I got close with the sliders in Oblivion, it just took quite a bit of time.

Although most of them are from PC based RPG's, Bioware has a lot of females who play their games. They wouldn't want to alienate them by making them play with a male Shepard or even a female Shepard with a particular look.

For me personally, even though I don't have them in real life, I like making my RPG's characters with dreadlocks.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I don't play many RPGs but Bioware games are always must purchases for me.

The crazy part about this game is that as deep as it sounds like, there's going to be two more installments.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

This is yet another example of why Bioware is ahead of the curve when it comes to developing games. KotOR was such a magnificent gaming experience. I couldn't put that game down. I'm a Star Wars geek so becoming a Jedi was a great experience. The storyline was so deep and I beat it twice just to get the full experience.

I can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy.

I'm not a Star Wars fan and I never played an rpg but KOTOR drew me in and Bioware is the reason that I love good rpgs now(well not turn based ones). I went through KOTOR twice too and that was another first for me since I usually never played through a game more than once. I'm just a huge Bioware fan, I still have Jade Empire and I've gone through that like 4 or 5 times. I've been excited for this game since I saw the first trailer two years ago and I know that the game is going to take up all of my time when I get it.
