Re: Splinter cell 4 Gameplay...STUNNING
Does anyone know if the people who are in the trailer are going to be in the movie?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Originally posted by zekey55I wasn't really impressed with anything other then the graphics. Seemed like an exact port from current gen. Originally posted by forensicdExactly. I downlaoded it thinking it would blow me away, but so far nothing from "next gen" blows me away yet. All it seems to be is higher res textures, and nothing more. The things I saw in the demo were the same things I have been doing in the series for half a decade now. I really expected alot more out of my 360 i think.Comment

Originally posted by zekey55As you should. So far I've been quite disappointed by next gen as well. The one saving grace I have is the Indiana Jones game and the hope that companies will realize that natural motion and physics engines are where next gen gameplay should be.
I agree with all the people that have said they're disappointed so far in the next-gen consoles. I know it's early for them yet but so far all the games made or being made are the same ones that have been made for years.
I'll stick with my current Xbox. When Sony or Microsoft can show me a game that's truly worthy of their hardware and prices then I'll jump to the next level. But just because Snake from MGS and Sam Fisher from SC have realistic looking stuble, doesn't mean I'm ready to pay through the nose for it.Comment

Re: Splinter cell 4 Gameplay...STUNNING
Innovation is a problem across the board. It is why I applaude Nintendo for trying something different, even if the Wii turns out to stink. I thought the DS would be a piece of crap, but they proved me wrong and I ended up buying one last summer. Sony's new controller offers some possibilities for innovation but it comes across as a poorman's Wii remote right now. Basically, every PS3 and 360 game has been done before, just never with this level of detail. For most people that's fine for others it isn't. It was never a problem for me until about a year or so ago when I found my attention span with videogames to be in serious decline. I couldn't get into X-Men Legends, God of War, etc because they were just the same games as before, only with a different setting, visuals, and so forth.
I too and sticking with the current gen for the time being until some titles come out that peak my interest. I can still spend hours with a good baseball game and Guitar Hero is a fun piece of innovative software and hardware.
With that said, Splinter Cell 4 looks good. They've always had fantastic lighting in the series and I'm sure this game will be pleasing on the eye. If it plays pretty much like every other Splinter Cell though, I likely won't bother with it.Comment

Looks hot. I wasn't online with the Xbox, so I'm really looking forward to the multiplayer on this thing.
As far as being dissapointed by next gen...I guess i'm just lucky to be a firm member of the "low-expectations" having majority. I've had an absolute blast with Oblivion, 2k6, Graw, LOTR:BFME, Dead Rising, PGR3, and Fight Night.
Hooray low expectations!Last edited by HMcCoy; 08-24-2006, 01:32 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
