Those DX10 pics look very realistic. It was similiar to the jump in graphics from Flight Sim 4 to Flight Sim 5 with the heralded photo-realistic graphics, back in the early 90's.

I'm a huge Microsoft Flight Sim fan. Based on previous experiences with the product i'll keep my enthusiasm in check. The MS Flight Sim project has had a bad reputation in the past for bringing a high spec computer to it's knees, when you factor graphics, real time weather, air traffic control and air traffic.

I'm sure as usual it will look beautiful and will be fully appreciated after a year or two after it's release when the newer CPU's and Video Cards come on the seen.

This game/simulator is on my Must Buy list for this Christmas. I'll just have to turn down the eye candy.

Stands for directX which comes from a program Microsoft sells Visual Basic. It's an API (Application Program Interface) where you have a library of files Video & audio that developers use when making a game for a PC.

Instead of a game maker including drivers for every single video and audio card available it's optmized to run from those library files.

The video card and audio card companies like ATi and Creative Labs use drivers that are part of directX. It just makes games easier to make for game companies.

If you've ever played games back on a computer that ran MS-DOS you'll appreciate directX.
