what do you mean its not possible...MGS4 can easily be put on the 360, and might even turn out better....

I don't see why not. Mr. Kojima admitted that the only reason he even decided to put MGS4 on PS3 was because sony put him first when delivering dev kits and M$ put him 2nd or 3rd....

So its not like he hasn't thought about it..

Re: "Dear Mr. Kojima, Jump In"

He did say that what he was doing could be done on a 360 but I just don't see him doing it.

At least not MGS4. He may do other Metal Gear related games or possibly port it over they way Xbox got MGS2, but yeah pretty pessimistic about it.

And Behindshadows... your sig mentions a 2K Boxing game. Didn't they just do the same as Amped and Top Spin and buy that Rocky game? If so, they'll spend 2 months on it and release it as crap as those 2 games I just mentioned ended up.

nope EA loses the rights to the boxing association in June...and from what I've heard they aren't renewing it...because the Boxing Association wants to see what other developers can do with their technology...

Kojima has stated at E3 that he feels the MGS series should be for the PS only and that he would want to create a new series for the Xbox or Wii. He has also stated in the past that he is not crazy about porting games and would rather see a game designed specifically for one console's hardware. I do believe that ad is the start of a long campaign for a new series on the 360.

Well since Solid Snake will be in the new Super Smash Bros on the Wii, it is concievable that MGS could be on the 360 at some point.

Skyboxer, here's part of that vision and it also goes to why Kutargi-san says its too cheap. This is why I told you guys wait for the Tokyo Game Show.

                    From the Beyond 3d article.

I'll post the interesting new bits here:

                    - PS3 is a computer, standard interfaces, designed to be extensible. Mentions again that you can just buy a standard bigger HDD if you want. Sony will continue to offer new variations/configurations of PS3 in the future with bigger HDDs, more AV I/O etc.

                    - Apparently they have lots of Cells, they started production in Summer 05. It won't be problem when it comes to supply, more challenging is securing other parts like HDDs, memory etc.

                    - PS3 can't output two different images via HDMI and multi av-out, just the same image. Might change in the future if there is consumer demand.

                    - Wanted to add motion sensors to controllers before, but couldn't because they were not good enough.

                    - PS logo button is used to raise the system menu, to turn on/off PS3, and to make the system recognise the controller (sound familiar? ). It's powered by a battery charged with a USB cable from PS3 to controller. The controller can't be used for PS2.

                    - PS3 power supply is internal, afterall. The machine is as quiet as a PS2 (I believe Sony said slim PS2 previously).

                    - Game resolutions are recommended to be 1080p or 720p, but no strict guidelines. SD is not preferred, however, obviously.

                    - PS3 has Linux installed and programming is allowed. License fees are not required for individual developers. Licensed PS3 game developers can get SDK and technical support by SCE, but Linux programmers while not having to pay a license fee, obviously won't get as much support. In Linux, Cell is under the hardware layer of the OS supervisor, but things including SPEs are expected to be open to developers. Didn't show off non-game apps at E3, because well, it's E3..

Again, thanks to one at B3D.

There will be a Metal Gear game on the 360 and the Wii. It just won't be Metal Gear Solid 4. They will create something else. Just like the current gen situation.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I believe you. Look what they're doing on the PSP. They are taking that franchise in completely different directions.

Re: "Dear Mr. Kojima, Jump In"

The impression I get from Kojima is he liked to put more of his time and energy into whatever MGS they are currently developing and doesn't like to split his team up for multiple consoles. And it seems like he has a bit of an old school mentality and likes to have specific franchises for each console. Unfortunately for Wii and 360 owners, Konami's other franchises have been pretty hit and miss over the last few years with the only successes I can think of being the Castlevania series for the Gameboy and DS. I think there's a chance MGS4 could be ported to the 360 eventually but not for at least a year after the release of MGS4 on the PS3. And it will likely be a "Substance" type re-release that will appear on both machines.
