Take it for what it's worth, but Gamesradar.com is reporting that the $500 PS3 will have wired controllers, not wireless.

Wow, the $500 model is going to end up being worthless. Why even bother?

"The 20GB console won't include an HDMI output, which means that it won't be able to deliver high definition pictures. But perhaps more disappointing is that wireless bluetooth controllers won't be supported; instead, gamers will have to make do with retro-style wired-up versions of the increasingly controversial PS3 pad."

Sony is really stupid if you ask me that's all I'm going to say, sorry guys that are big fans of Sony.

After reading this, how can they omitt something where if someone decides to buy the $500 system and they decide to get an extra wireless controller.

It's like they are pushing people into buying the $600 machine.

Yes, I feel the same way. They are really sh*tt*ng on their $500 model. You know something Sony, look at MS on how to pull off the 2 sku deal and then just follow.

"In addition, the lower-end model also lacks WiFi and the slot for Memory Stick Duo cards included in the full-spec PS3.

A Sony representative on the show floor at E3 also emphasized that gamers won't be able to upgrade the memory of the 20GB version; if that's the PS3 incarnation you opt for, you're permanently stuck with a 20GB memory limit.

Amazingly, Sony big boss man Phil Harrison, in a BBC interview earlier this week, insisted, "What we should be clear about is that the functionality is identical in both machines. There is no difference in what the machine does."

After reading this, it really makes me wonder what in the world are they thinking about all of this? They say it's upgradeable, but the article says it's not.

Read: If all you want to do is play games, buy our $500 game machine where there is nothing gameswise (aside from a couple exclusives) that really differentiate it from our competition's next gen console.

At least with the core, you can add the HDD, the HD-DVD unit, and use wireless controllers if you want.

Re: How many are buying a PS3?

I am going to hold off.

There isn't a PS3 exclusive game out there, that would tempt me to pay 600 bucks, and I have no desire to buy a blu-ray or HD-DVD until the format war is decided.

I have purchased every console on release day since the Dreamcast, and have owned just about every console at one time or another since the Atari 2600. The PS3, at that price, to me is no where near worth the money.

I am pretty sure I am getting one but that means the 360 goes. I promised myself I was only going with one console this time around.

Nemesis, are you going to get rid of the 360 for the PS3 due to the MLB series? Nothing interests you coming out on the 360 like Gears of War?

There are a bunch of games that I have interest in but none will have the longevity that baseball does. Baseball is one of my main reasons I still have interest in video gaming. All the other games are like fluff.
