    XBOX 360 Freezing/Replacement Experiences

I got my XBox 360 off Ebay right around March. I played College Hoops and NBA 2K6 for awhile but had some problems with freezing on those games. Call of Duty and Tiger Woods played flawless though.

There are a few games coming out soon that I'm looking to buy and play heavily. At first I thought the freezing had to do with it being a 2K game and the fact they are complete knobs when it comes to the 360 so far. I think half the board had major problems with freezes on those games. However, I'm starting to fear that the problem isn't 2K related and maybe my XBox 360 just being a piece. I'd like to have that problem fixed before I get into a game and have to sit around and wait a month to get it fixed/replaced.

So my question is this. I don't have the receipt but have the box and everything else. Would I get a free repair/replacement on my XBox 360 or will they be jerks? Technically I don't know if it would fall in the 90 day warranty and I don't really have proof. I know Sony was real cool about this back in the day and wondering how Microsoft handles these situations. Also if anyone has any reason to believe that the issues are 2K related and not my Xbox. Any help is appreciated.

I think you answered your own question. 2K games have been prone to lockups and freezes. If those are the only games that are freezing up on you, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you want added piece of mind go buy yourself a Nyko Intercooler 360. Can't say enough good things about it.

i would just call microsoft and have them send a repair kit and they will send ya a new 360. all ya have to do is register the 360 number with them, no reciept needed. now if you send it in takes like 7-10 days to get it back before it was like 2 or 3 days.

Sounds good. I just got off the phone and am sending it in. Hopefully this solves the problem.
