I hope its not true. I just picked up the white one for two reasons: my wife isn't a big fan of pink and I'm not secure enough to be caught playing with a pink handheld when I want to play it. "You know how I know you're gay?" would be uttered by my brother relentlessly.

If it is true, I haven't opened the white one and maybe I'll exchange it for the black one.

It was a problem with the launch white ones, I'm sorry, I should have stated that.

I just came back from Gamestop with the Pink DS Lite + Cooking Mama for the wife. She should be surprised when she sees it later.

Funny thing. I showed my wife the pink DS and Cooking Mama last night when we were at Best Buy and she was like, "why on earth do they have this game out? Wouldn't you just rather cook in real life?"

She is not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination

From reading reviews online, it's gonna be a megahit in the same vein as Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright.

Game Rankings only has a score of just over 60% right now. I'm a little worried over that one but its mainly because one review gave it a 40% while GamePro gave it an 80%.

From everything I've read about the game, it's dog****.

The verdict on Cooking Mama is that the game is worth the $20. It takes a bit of time getting used to it, but it's a fun little game once you've messed around with the practice mode. My wife and I were playing CM tonight and thought that it is a challenging game. You use the stylus the entire time for this game chopping up food and for cooking it. Not that bad of a game.

                          Re: Nintendo DS Lite

Well, I gave my wife the DS Lite tonight as an early birthday present before I leave next week for 7 days. Thought she could use it when I'm gone. I was apprehensive about how she would like it but I kind of talked about it earlier in the week to plant the seed and she loves it! She's developing nintendo thumb right now! She's been playing New Super Mario Brothers for at least 1.5 hours straight and hasn't even tried Brain Age yet.

I'm very happy she likes it. The system is really cool and she doesn't even know I got Mario Kart for her later either. She is already thinking about Nintendogs, Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright. Maybe I should bring back Mario Kart if she'd rather have one of those. Either way, I'm just happy she loves the system.

Great news. I'm glad she likes it. I bought my wife Cooking Mama last week and she can't put it down. I don't really see the appeal in it, but if it makes her happy, that's what matters.

I told her about that game too. We both played Brain Age last night and entered our info in. Won't say what our initial scores were but they were older than us, that's for sure. She was trying a sodoku puzzle in bed as well. I think I may have her hooked. Thanks for your previous advice too Dave.

Is True Swing Golf any good? I am used to the Hot Shots Golf series on the PS2 and enjoy them. However, I wasn't sure how TSG plays on the DS. I know it uses the touch screen to swing, but I wanted to know if you can judge how far you hit the ball by the way you swing the club. For instance, in HSG, I can power up the swing to a certain level depending on the distance to the whole...I can put full power or less power into the swing. In True Swing Golf, can you do that with the touch screen? Or does the club swing at full power with the only difference in distance being the type of club you use? Hopefully that question makes sense.
