PS3 Controller Info you may not know!"Like the Xbox 360 controller, the new PlayStation 3 controller will be wireless, but it will function via Bluetooth 2.0 EDR instead of 2.4GHz RF. Devices operating with Bluetooth generally have a range of 30 feet. Sony reports that the controller will have a 24-hour battery life, a figure that seems to be in line with other Bluetooth devices but far short of the 300-hour 2.4GHz models available for current consoles. Despite the decreased battery life, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR offers numerous features. Bluetooth 2.0 EDR can transmit data at rates of up to 3.0Mbps. Furthermore, by using Bluetooth, the PlayStation 3 may be capable of supporting other Bluetooth devices on the market, such as headsets, mice, and keyboards."

They almost certainly will. However it seems like alot more of a must have for the PS3.Originally posted by RodsterI thought Sony was selling a battery charge kit like Microsoft for the 360?

I have had the 360 since launch and have maybe changed batteries 5 times."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

There is no recharge kit, it recharges via usb cable connected to the PS3, You can also play while its charging. I hope that helps.Comment

Great Kush avy! Those guys are terrible.

Anyway, this actually might be a major factor in me choosing the PS3 - my current wireless 2.4 Ghz Logitech controller gets interfered with by my WiFi. Bluetooth won't have that problem. I assume that an XBOX 360 would suffer the same interference as my Logitech one when I am playing online, thus forcing me to plus the controller in. A real crappy scenario when "wireless" is the point in the first place!Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!Comment

I could've sworn that was in the article that USF got his exert from. Guess he must've missed that part.Originally posted by backbreakerThere is no recharge kit, it recharges via usb cable connected to the PS3, You can also play while its charging. I hope that helps.

I don't have a problem with plugging my controller up at nights. I mean I charge my phone and my PSP every night before go to bed. But that's just me. Some people don't like doing that. Even though plugging something in isn't much of a chore Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910 Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

In all seriousness though are we expecting it to ship with the recharge cord and rechargeable batteries? I remember checking out the price of rechargeables at best buy for my 360 controllers and it was almost $20."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment
