    Getting an X-Box 360...

    A few questions...

    1. What is the best single player game to get (maybe give me a few so I have some choices)? Right now I'm leaning toward CoD or GRAW, but don't know which is better for single player.
    2. What are the "necessary" accessories? I plan on getting the Premium package, Play & Charge, the transfer kit for rosters. Anything else?
    3. As an extension of #2, do I need a memory card for roster transfers also?

Thanks, any other suggestions would be great.

    1) I own Oblivion and GRAW and both are awesome. Can't miss with either of those for single player (Graw's online is also insanely good)
    2) Plug and play is a good bet to charge your batteries (if you don't own a batter recharger). Transfer Kit is also good and you will need a memory card for it to work.

Another suggestion is get online. XBox Live is so freakin cool. I've always been a single player gamer but Live is just so cool and has so much content I was hooked.

Kind of sucks that I need to get a memory card. If I didn't plan on transferring rosters, I wouldn't need one, right? If so, is there anyway around this? Just trying to cut corners whereever I can.

        1) The single player for Call of Duty 2 is above anything else on the 360, unless you like RPG's, then I would say Oblivion.

        2) That's all you need.

        3) Yes, you need a memory card.

          1) CoD's single player is better than GRAW's....GRAW's MP is better than CoD2...just depends what kind of shooter you like(tactical or fast-paced)

          2) Def. get the play and charge kit.

If you wanna try to save some coin here and there, I would definately check out ebay. For example, a memory card which retails for $40, can be had for $20. Basically, everything you would want is available. Just establish a limit, and don't bid beyond it. It may take some time, but you'll get your goodies.

Best single player would be Oblivion,Hitman or Rumble Roses XX because they should last a long time as long as you like them. Burnout or Amped 3 would be pretty good too.

I can maybe offer a different perspective as I just got my 360 last week. So I was just in your shoes.

                  1. Congrats, you're going to LOVE it.
                  2. Don't buy too many games, you'll be able to download almost all the demos to see what you like. BUT, if you want to play any 2K sports titles, you won't be able to download those.
                  3. I would recommend Oblivion if you like that style of game at all. If not, COD 2 and GRAW are real nice.
                  4. I know I'm in the minority, but I got the quick charge kit, NOT the play and charge ones. I had to buy an extra recharge battery (I have two wireless controllers and the quick charge kit only comes with one battery), but I love it because I never have a wire. I know that sounds like no big deal, but once you play with that awesome wireless controller, you never want a wire again. I keep the AA's that came with it on reserve. Other than that if you're getting the "Deluxe" edition, you don't really need much more. A trasnfer kit if you want rosters. I bought the media center remote, but you don't need it.

Have fun! I've bareley scratched the surface after my first week.

I also just purchased a 360. However, is not here yet. Bought it on ebay and is due to arrive no later than monday. Am also going out today to buy an hdtv. Does hi def really make that much of a difference for gaming? watching sports? As far as gaming goes, am only a player of sports games. Basically waiting on the release of ncaa 07. What other sports titles would you recommend?

I dont have an HDTV but I have played it at a friends house and it makes a huge difference. The sports games I recommend are NBA 2K6(but the season is almost over),NCAA Football and Madden. thats about it for now. NBA 2K7 is going to rock.

It makes ALL the difference. I would rather watch a boring documentary on DiscoveryHD Theatre than most Non HD channels.

The NBA playoffs have been flat out AMAZING. I even watched Girls college softball last night and was incredible.

As far as gaming...it's also unbelievalbe. I never want to leave my living room again.....

Although I'm sure most of us would have watched Girls College Softball anyways.

I actually have that already, didn't know you could use that to charge 360 controllers. Good.
