    XBOX 360 problems...

I know that people have had problems with their 360's but i was wondering if anyone knew how serious the problems are. I just ordered one and should be getting it soon but i have been reading about problems people are having. I thought it was just a problem at launch but i guess not. Anyone know if 360's bought around this time still have problems (freezing, etc.)? Any info will be appreciated, thanks!!!

It's pretty much hit or miss.

I have a launch 360 and it's never had any issues. Other's have launch 360's and tons of problems. Other's have new 360's and have problems etc...

It's really the same with any electronic purchase. Sometimes you get a lemon. I just think we hear more about it here and on other video game sites as the % of people buying the systems are higher.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Just keep it well ventilated and clean (ie: dust, cat hair, dog hair and other stuff can get sucked into the fans and cause overheating).

      Booo!!!

Its sorry that we must think like this, I mean, people are scared to get a 360 for fear of failure. Its like people are buying it with the thought of "I know its gonna fail, but when."

Just so they can turn right back around and say " I knew it."

Im on my 2nd 360 and I have no warranty. If it fails, cool, call MS pay the $160 for the repair & warranty and be done.

Just buy the 360, get a warranty and enjoy.

I think I shoulda just said that instead.

Why did you not get a Warranty?

Do you guys know if it is ok to use computer spray to clean dust out of the 360? If so, is there a special kind you should use?

Your safest bet (if you're still under warranty) and even if you're not, would be to call Microsoft and ask. Maybe they have a recommended brand of air duster to use.

I have had zero problems myself, yes there are some problems, but there are haters out there who just spread rumors too, I don't think most of user problems even exist. Watch whent the ps3 drops, I bet all the MS fanboys spread rumors about how the ps3 breaks too..

I have a high power vac, that cleans PC's, I use once a week on my 360, I open up the 360 tray, and I blow the air threw and clean that sucker out, I have had no problems...

Too naive...Plus I was told by a MS rep (for what its worth) that when my system was fixed/replaced that it had a 1 yr warranty after that.

Really, Im not too worried about it. If I worry about it, I might as well just wait for the 360 to fail.

                  7 months...still running strong!!!

Canned air is canned air. Any kind should work.

Only problem I see is that if you spray into the fans, there isn't really anywhere for the dust to go (unless you pop open the 360 case). You'll get some out of it, but you might blow some further into the 360 - dust that's sticking to the fans.

                        launch 360, went dead..

sent in to MS, had a new one back in a few days..

the 2nd 360 lasted a few then it died..

sent back to MS, had a Repaired 360 sent to me..

                        wouldnt even work ..

tried sending it back to MS, they then said no more over night shipping and i would be without a 360 for up to two to three weeks...

waited a week or so until my walmart had them in stock, took the repaired 360 to them in the 360 box i had and they replaced the system for free

i then called MS to tell them my new 360 serial number, they put me on with a higher up, i explained my displeasure with the whole process etc. sent me some free stuff etc. pretty nice... also just checked they (MS) extended my warranty with them through 2008. i'm gonna double check that with a call to them but thats what this letter states that i have had for a few months and have yet to read until now lol

i would get the warranty if you want a 360 FAST if one dies out on ya. but if you dont care about taking things back to walmart then you dont need a warranty.
