Online shooter tips??
Hey guys, I havent had Live for very long, and Ive just gotten into shooters on Live (like Graw and BF), but Im not too good. Can anyone give me some tips/strategies on how to do better? It seems like I just run around aimlessly, firing at any opponent I see.Jesus saves

Re: Online shooter tips??
For one thing, use the single player mode to get good at aiming.
More importantly, learn the maps. Until you learn the maps on Live, you will suck. Learn where there's cover, learn where you're afforded maximum vantage, where you can attack from high ground, where the best defense points are, and where the likely hiding and attack spots for your opponents are.
Knowing your way around the maps is the biggest key to online success.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

I was just about to say this. Learning the map is the single biggest advantage a vet will have over a newb. The second is learning how to aim while moving. The third is not dying.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Online shooter tips??
All the jealousy in this thread...how cute.
Skerik's got it down...have to learn the maps. Learn where the weapons are(in games like Halo) learn where the most used hiding spots are(GRAW, COD2) and just learn your way around. Know how to get from point A to point B without running out in the open, know how to get from your base, to the opponents base without running straight down the middle.
Gilateen also has a good point with being able to shoot as accurately as you can as you move. Whether that be running towards someone who doesn't see you, while running away from someone, or trying to run around someone/strafing to keep from being shot. If you can shoot accurately while avoiding their shots at the same time, you're golden.
And lastly...learn how to snipe. Accomplishes a few things. A) You get kills without being seen, without having to run into a group of opponents, etc. B) You piss the hell out of people, and when your opponents are pissed they'll either quit, and give you a win, or get so annoyed that they'll be running towards you like a chicken with their head cut-off, and you can either snipe them again, or let them get close enough and blast the hell outta them with a shotgun or pistol. And finally...C) You get posts written about you.Comment
