    Sly Cooper (PS2) Series

Has anyone tried the Sly Cooper series? Is it any good?

And is it better than Ratchet & Clank and the Jak and Daxter series?

My family and I LOVE this series. I think my favorite is Sly2 but Sly 3 isn't bad either. It is more R&C then Jax, but mostly classi platforming with a great story, characters and presentation.

I miss the days of platforming going from point A to B. Is Sly one of those type of platformers, point A to B?

Yes it is, and a fine one at that. I only have the first Sly, i've been meaning to pickup the others but I keep putting it off.

It's an excellent series, with good voice acting and stylized visuals. Very fun!

As for your question, the first one is very linear. The second and third have a sort of "hub" overworld where you run around to the missions. The platforming though is very straightforward, and I'm like you, I prefer a bit of linearity.

Of course I also loved Jak and Ratchet as well, but in my mind Sly gets the nod, since it's one of the rare 3D games my wife had no problems with and was able to beat (the camera controls weren't overly intimidating nor did the game ever require memorizing complex jump runs).

1 and 2 were great. I've not gotten to play part 3 yet though (still waiting for the price to drop.)

I like the series better than D&J, but not as much as Ratchet and Clank. R&C II, in my opinion, is one of the best games ever made. So I guess I'm a bit bias.
