Oddly enough Candy, even though i've been playing guitar since i was 13, it just doesn't appeal to me.
I've actualy tried it, played it, and done a couple of the songs on the expert level. It's cool, but as a guy that can play guitar, why just press 5 different buttons when I can pull out my guitar and actually play those same songs?

    On the FLIP SIDE

As someone that knows people that can't play guitar, they love this game since it kind of feels like you are. I think it's a great game and idea for those that don't play guitar!

I hope that it gets a lot of these people who are playing the game to get interested in playing for for realy and go out and by a beginner's guitar.

Well, after reading this thread I finally got to play for a few minutes at my local Best Buy. That's all it took...promptly picked the game up, and I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow after work.

My #1 question (especially as I haven't opened it yet) - can anyone confirm that the guitar controller will be fully compatable with Guitar Hero 2 when that comes out? Or is Sony (and whichever co. makes GH) going to do the typical corporate thing and make you buy a whole new guitar controller?

It's the same company making Guitar Hero 2, and yes, the guitar is 100% compatible with it.

This week, Target has it for $64.88. I'm a bit tempted to get this, but we will see how this week goes financially after buying a bunch of PS2 games over the weekend.

I also have SFAnthology on my eye which is my favorite SF series.

I finally tried this over the weekend and damn I enjoyed it very much. I thought I would have hated it.

Will probably buy it once I see it on sale somewhere.Glad I hung on to my ps2.

I just finished God of War Saturday night and man was that game awesome. There were a few annoyances, but as an overall package I really enjoyed it.

Extreme, did you try Spartan: Total Warrior? I'm highly considering buying it since I heard that it deals with the Romans and Greek Mythology also.

Any opinions if you tried it?

I still haven't played it either. Thought it would just be a better version of DDR, but from what I hear it's a great game. Maybe I'll pick it up. (some day)
I'm still having a blast with my SNES, so it's gonna be a while before I buy a next-gen system.

I've owned the first one for about 2 1/2 years now.

The game is good in some ways... especially if you're not nervous about your own singing voice. I do have some minor gripes... like the few song selections, and the fact that the "background singers" aren't the... well... they aren't the real songs. Obviously they must've not been able to grab a license for that, so they remade all of the songs. Some sounds close to the actual singer... others don't.

It's an okay game, though. I'm sure that with practice it would make you a better singer.

As for my current shopping, I'm thinking of picking up Guitar Hero tomorrow.
