    Re: Saints row discussion

My character looks like me circa 1989. I had to use the high top fade, just had to. My dude has been locked up for 17 years, and now he's fresh out the joint...still rockin' the Big Daddy Kane look.

Can anyone make a decent Micheal Jackson? I'd LOVE to play through this game with Jacko.

Blew up the tanker with the 3 cop cars around it with the rocket launcher. Guess all you non cheaters had to find a way around it.

Insurance Fraud and Mayhem are really great too.

My friends just found one of the insurance fraud minigame locations. It's in the downtown area somewhere around all the skyscrapers, wasn't really paying attention, but damn was it funny.

Wow, my friend went and got this game today. I had played the demo and liked it somewhat, it just didn't give you as much customization. After playing it with my friend for a few hours I'm hooked. Definitely purchasing it in the near future.

The demolition derby was way fun!

Loving the game. The rag doll physics on the people is great/satisfying. Also like the limited fighting engine - cool to be able to do left/right punches, block and a limited bob n' weave. Would be nice to see that expanded on. (possibly stupid) question: how do you hold someone up at gunpoint? I thought it was possible to point your gun without shooting

Hmmm......I may have to pick this up, as well. How is the framerate holding up, overall?

It's ok, not the best, but it's not as bad as it was in the beginning, it cleans up after the cut scenes and opening scenes. The game is great though.

That's cool. I don't remember it being terrible in the demo, so as long as it's not worse than that, it should be fine. Looks like I'll be picking this up for the long weekend.

                    Re: Saints row discussion

This game is very good and better than GTA imo with some respects. They took GTA, copied it to the tee, and then refined everything all around it. I find that even the missions are refreshing compared to what was offered in GTA. I see myself playing through this entire game and can't believe how nice looking the environments are and even the draw distance is something to be really excited about.

I hope that Rockstar is keeping a close eye as to what was done with Saint's Row, they may have some huge competition on their hands.

I know you guys may think I'm nuts, but I'm more stoked for The Godfather at the end of September more than I was excited for SR. One thing that the Godfather does right is gets rid of some of those mundane missions that has hampered games like GTA.

i really enjoyed the game last nite despite getting a late start. Yes the gunfights are a lot better than GTA. The targeting system is also better. I got through the reclamation mission. The ONE thing that I love and i'm sure GTA will implement is going to the map and placing the marker on your destination and it shows you how to get there. That's the one thing I've hated about the GTA games. I'd be riding forever trying to get to stuff. I gotta get some cash though. I need some new threads and some bling.

If you want to hold up a clerk at a store, for example, just stand there holding your gun. Eventually your character will hold it up and the screen will tell you that you've initiated a hold up.

If its just like GTA but better, I doubt it. They are GTA games I never finshed but spent countless hours just killing and doing crazy stuff on it.

How does the online work? Anyone try it yet?

So, if im a fan of GTA, do you recommend the game? Ill probably do the trade two in and get Saints Row for 10 bucks at EB. Say bye bye to Ghost Recon and Oblivion.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

this is cool, I had two nice cars that I got from the Carnales gang after I took down that first stronghold but somehow I lost them both. anyways, I left for Sloppy Seconds by foot today and after I bought some new gear, I got to my cellphone and call this chick (i forget her name), next thing I know, she pulls up and comes to pick me up. Now, you use the left stick to tell her where to go...lol.
