Have People Been Experiencing Problems w/the 360?

I want to get a 360 for Madden if Madden is good...but...

I have heard people are still having issues with the system and the whole "red lights of death." Is this still the case? Have you been encountering issues STILL with your system?

It has happened to me twice. They've fixed it both times. It's taken between 2 to 3 weeks each time. The console is still worth it though.

Release system with no problems or freezes what so ever. Don't believe the hype about bad Xbox 360's, there were some but the media just hyped it up.

I was one of the few that had a bad console at launch. Microsoft replaced it quickly and I've had no problems with Madden or any other game since.

This is interesting...I don't know what to believe. Over on another forum...people were discussing their XBOX 360...and it seemed a lot of them were having problems...or knew other people who were having issues.

I'm kind of concerned about paying so much money for something that could crap out due to issues.

That's what extended warranties are for my friend to ease that concern. But if you don't want to pay it, you still got the Microsoft one, most problems in electronics show up right on first boot.

First and foremost, the bad 360 talk that goes on is blown out of proportion. There have been a few bad 360's but that is expected with any new console launch.

Second, EB/Gamestop and other stores that offer extended warranties are keeping them in stock on a regular basis. I know that at my EB, they always have them in stock.

Finally, so long as you don't put your system in any enclosed space, then you shouldn't have a problem. All the problems that I have heard of are the fact that the systems are overheating and that is because people are putting them on shelves of entertainment centers. That is a no-no. Make sure that the system is out where it can receive air, and you will have no problems.

And before you question what I am saying, remember this fact. I am a Sony fan. Ask anyone on here.

My launch system was replaced a couple of months ago. At this point NBA 2k6 crashes my system. I have about 6 other games and none cause any problems at all(can play and switch games for 6+ hrs without any problems). I pop in NBA 2k6. 2 minutes into the game i get 2 red lights(overheat). This is even after having the console off for 6+ hrs coming home and getting right into the game. This can happen all day if possible. MLB 2k6 corrupted my HDD after the patch...got rid of that.

The console is good when it works correctly. But good to know some of the problems others have. I'm not the only crazy one. my .02 cents

ive had mine since December and havent even had a hiccup. Its totally worth it with NCAA and Madden coming out.

So - if I take it off the glass entertainment center and place it to the side or on the floor with the back open to fresh air - it should work just fine?

don't put it on the floor if it's carpeted. also be sure to pay equal attention to the huge brick power supply being in an appropriate spot because if it overheats it's just as bad as the 360 overheating. some people put a nail in the wall and hang it off the wall i've read.
